As I’ve argued elsewhere on this blog, climate change – despite its popularity as an environmental cause in the developed world – really doesn’t have much of a constituency in China. And among the most important reasons for th...

On Friday I had the opportunity to tour both sides of the sprawling, 5.28 square km Expo 2010 site. I’ve been down there before, but only to individual pavilions on discrete trips, and seen it from above, but I must admit that I never really ap...

As documented in various places on this blog, I have been a fan, critic, and victim of the massive Shanghai-wide renovation undertaken in advance of the Expo 2010. On the fan side of things, I give a big thumb’s up to the new subway lines, and ...

Hi Adam,

As a tourism site, we wanted to tell you about a competition we're running to promote the North American launch of earthTV.com. The month-long competition (called "Where In The World Is...?") offers a chance to win high-end travel luggage from Briggs & Riley. earthTV.com features more than 70 cameras on 6 continents streaming near-to-live video of some of the world's best travel destinations (where you can also find live weather updates). For a complete list of earthTV world cameras and information on the competition, please visit: www.earthTV.com

The launch of earthTV.com in North America follows the worldwide success of earthTV Network, which reaches more than 2 billion television viewers globally by providing live programming to over 50 TV networks in over 200 countries, including The Weather Channel, NHK and Sky TV. earthTV.com is a fascinating site for travelers, technologists or anyone who wants to see the rest of the world from their computer.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The concept for "Where In The World Is...?" is this: entrants register on earthTV and earn "miles" (i.e. points) by clicking on a camera shot featured on the home page that day. For example, if the featured shot today is Venice, Italy, the entrant would go to the Venice camera detail page where they will click an "I Found It!" button to collect the miles. Each day for 30 days, a new camera shot will be featured.

It's fun, addictive and interactive. At the end of the promotion, the 2 entrants with the most miles win Briggs & Riley Traveleware. A random winner (regardless of miles) will be picked to win a B&R business case. Other mileage leaders will win cash prizes and Amazon gift certificates.

Contest rules, sign-up and full prize information can be found here:
