We work a rotating 7 day shift. Starting with Midnights, 1130pm to 0800am (2 days off). Evenings, 3:30pm to 1200am (1 day 0ff). Days, 7:30am to 4:00 pm (4 1/2 days off). I believe this is called the Southern reverse swing. For the most part we get one weekend off a month. Is there any other type of shift that would give us a better time off to work ratio. We work a 24 hr day in a paper mill. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. We have batted around a 3, 4, 3 12 hr scheduel. Some like it some dont. We have forced overtime so 12 hr days are not a issue. We work them now with only pay (taxed at a higher ratio) to show for it. Less time off for our families and other endevors. Small county only employer.
