Yuriko KawaguchiThanks for the tip in regards to not taking a rental car from San Diego to Mexico. I'll be there next month and will take your advise and choose one of the day tours instead.
Speaking of day tours... I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area all of my life and have a 9 year old daughter. We've recently went on a half-day bus tour from San Francisco heading to Muir Woods and had a blast. We can't wait to go back. I was advised on another site that those who are not comfortable driving along windy roads should not drive to Muir Woods on their own and boy was I glad that I listened! The minibus was really comfortable and we got to spend about an hour in the forest (just about the right amount of time for my daughter) and then the bus took us to Sausalito. We ate lunch and ice cream there (Lappert's - YUMMY) and decided to come back to San Francisco via ferry instead of taking the tour bus back to San Francisco. It was just a perfect mother and daughter day and highly recommended for other parents looking to do something fun and educational with thier kids while in SF.
