1 Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. There is no doubt about it. I’m afraid. The cold grip of anxiety clutches my stomach a...

The author of this blog is authentic and transparent in their devotional writings. Two great qualities to be found in any person not to mention a follower of Jesus.

I wish I could remember such verses while fighting the permanently raging battle. For me, it is the "more like" part which is the most depressing. How much is more? Forever less than the right amount. More like Him = never like Him. One sin = all sins. And where is the progression in the "more like"? It seems to be "more like" a saw teeth graph (in the happy case), or "more like" the fall of a stone thrown upwards from a mountain top. I'm not really depressed, I just want to be perfect as He said. I need a cold boot every time I remember I'm not. I need to repent more. How much is more in this case? I also need to move "forward", because not being perfect is something I have to forgive myself of much too often.

I don't even remember how I happened across this blog, but once I did, it felt like the Holy Spirit was talking directing to me.

"For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens."

Ephesians 6:12

anonymousanonymous is reminding of that everyday in a practical, down-to-earth way.
