Press Release

Clayton Woodbury & Associates

May 23, 2008

Randy Jackson, Mario Lopez & MTV to be named in 40 million dollar idea theft lawsuit. "America's Next Best Dance Crew"

In January 2005, Clayton Woodbury, age 39, conceived a television show entitled " Dance Jam" which had hip hop street dance teams competing against each other head-to-head. Woodbury registered a treatment of his idea for "Dance Jam" with the Writers Guild of America on January 2, 2005.

On January 2, 2005, Clayton Woodbury sent copy of treatment to MTV producers Carol Eng, Stuart Cohen & Mikey Ireland. I was told by all three MTV would pass on idea. MTV unscrupulously lifted Woodbury' idea and incorporated it's signature elements into ' America's Best Dance Crew" without giving Wodbury credit or compensation for his originality. This is a breach of contract, breach of confidence and copyright infringement. They have lifited substanial and integral material from my idea. The concept is the same and there several similarities.

On May 18, Mr. Woodbury sent email to Co-President Tom Freston and several other MTV executives advising them of their offense. They were inform that lawsuit would be filed in 30 days if settlement is not offered.

On May 21, 2008 a complaint was filed with U.S. justice Department, the intellectual property theft division.

More press releases may follow.

One of the Miss America organization’s slogan is
“Some call her a beauty queen, we call her a scholar.”
After viewing the revamped Miss America show, many would call her a burlesque queen.
In the past, Miss America was an icon: she projected a wholesome image of traditional American values. Now, she is scantily clad and salaciously “strutting her stuff” down the runway in a degrading manner. This once classy pageant has now been turned into a demeaning reality show that culminates in a pageant worthy of Miss Hooters (no offense to Miss Hooters contestants, who probably display a more sedate runway walk than that of the Miss America contestants).
If you are offended by the licentious nature of the new Miss America pageant, email the pageant organization and let them know:
