Childhood Memories
Distant childhood memories flash before me as I stare longingly into the flame of a bright burning candle. Transfixed, I’m drawn into the visions that spew out and settle into the translucent molten pool of days long gone. Wishing that others...

I love reading your thoughts and about memories past. I am a new grandparent as well and love it. It actually makes me feel younger to care for baby, I love it!

I love this blog. We're all so apprehensive about going into hospital at the best of times and knowing that someone like this is there to look after us is reassuring.
I love reading this blog. It's a peek into a world we're all curious about.

Getting better and better. Has many interesting posts for everyone, not just nurses.

Peter's blog is fascinating reading. Most people probably have their share of empathy for other people (after all, it's part of what makes us human and what keeps us working at our relationships)--but people who go into nursing have more than the average, along with a hefty shot of whatever genes translate into a tendency toward self-sacrifice. Having spent many hours in hospitals when my brother was battling cancer, I've grown very grateful for people like you, Peter. Thanks for putting a face on this amazing profession for us.

I never knew it could be so interesting to be a nurse - I love your old photo too. (Reminds me of the Brady bunch!)

Great blog Peter,i've always admired the staff that work in hospitals, they do a fantastic job and are never given the credit they deserve. The blog is well laid out, easy to read and very interesting, go check it out.
This is probably my pc but I cannot seem to post a comment because of the pop up, I have a really old pc that can't deal with things like that, sorry I couldn't comment.

I know St Vincents well, from the outside and of course reputation. There are not enough male nurses and I can sympathise with you being the only male in a class of females - more power to the male nurses of the world.
Brilliant blog and love the photo's with the meme - will get around to a review at some stage - if you don't mind.
Keep on blogging

A very interesting blog - plenty of history. Being involved with alternative medicine, I enjoy blogs medically related but not those supporting the wide-spread use of drugs. I will soon be posting an article about midwifery in Australia.

Well I got stuck reading some of your posts. They are great and very insightful. I say keep up with the blogging for as long as you can.
I don't envy you being a nurse and am grateful for the medical profession taking care of our community when they need to be as it is something that I could not do.
I give you this rating for honesty in your thoughts and sharing them like you do.

I spend many times in hospital - not myself, but with other family members, and I tell you being a nurse its not easy career. I saw lot of hard working male and female nurses around. It is not pretty job to do sometimes, therefore I am greatfull to all who are able to do this job.
On the side this is a very interesting blog to read, just wish I had more hours to read, but hey it will always give me a reason to come back. Excellent.

Being a nurse here in the States, I find St Vincent's Hospital Male Nurses to be really interesting reading. It would be fascinating to those not in medicine as well. The imagery is great.
