No doubt about it, if you don’t weigh, measure and record your daily points, you are not going to lose any weight, or else you will lose less than you might if you actually did those things. And it is true that drinking the water does help you to lose weight. I can’t stand drinking water and I have tried the flavored water but do not care for it either. I have drank some water, just not the amount that I am supposed to. Did you know that you can die from drinking too much water? It’s true, there was a report of someone dying from just that in the news some months back.

Count your points and don’t cheat. You get 35 extra points to use weekly however I suggest that you not use these points. In the beginning you are given enough points that you can eat just about whatever you want to anyway. But just be aware that the more fast food you eat, the quicker those points will melt away. And unlike pounds, you do not want that to happen.

1 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup frozen chopped bell pepper
1 cup cooked regular or whole wheat rotini/rotelli pasta
1/4 cup fat-free ricotta cheese

Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and saute until lightly browned. Add tomato sauce and peppers. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add the pasta and mix well. Serve topped with ricotta cheese.

This is a one person serving which is 7 points. Double the ingredients for each additional serving.

In case anyone wants to say that this is a copied post only, think again. It’s totally mine, typed by me and not copied. This is a Weight Watcher recipe for those who are following that particular diet program. It is very easy to make and doesn’t take much time. The recipe doesn’t say what kind of salsa to use so you can use any brand that you like. I used Pace mild and I was not impressed with the way that it tasted. But these came out rather nice. Just don’t ignore the recipe when it tells you to only fill half of the burrito.

1 burrito size whole wheat tortilla (or large burritos)

1/4 cup salsa

1/4 cup shredded fat-free Cheddar cheese

2 tbsp fat-free sour cream

Spread one-half of the tortilla with salsa and sprinkle with the mushrooms and cheese. Fold the unfilled tortilla half over the filling half. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and spray with nonstick spray. Put the tortilla in the center of the skillet. (I used an electric skillet that was large, so three of these fit into it at one time) Cook for 3-4 minutes or until crisp (believe me you do want these to be crispy) Carefully turn the quesadilla over and cook 3-4 more minutes on the other side. Remove from heat and carefully cut these into four wedges (I only cut them into 3 wedges). Serve with sour cream.

Each quesadilla equals to three WW points.

Would you believe that you can go online and buy things that are being sold on Black Friday? I had no idea you could do that either, but at blackfriday.biz you surely can do just that. They will have a list of all of the Black Friday sales and will tell you which ones you can buy online. That is so much easier than standing in lines for 4-5 hours the night before; being jostled in crowds and not having enough hands to carry what you wanted because all of the buggies have been taken up. My favorite place to shop on Black Friday is at Wal-mart. This is simply because there is one in almost every town and it is a lot better than trying to drive all over the place getting all the good sales because there is no way to do that. I imagine in the bigger towns it is so much worse than in a small one. You can see everything that is going to be offered at special prices which will allow you to make a plan of action. If you are hoping to go to more than one retailer for different items you will want to be ready in advance. So this web site has got to be the handiest one you will ever find.

This is a great recipe for calzones and you can put anything inside of iti that you want, which makes this a very good recipe for vegans, diabetics or anyone on a special diet. Not only that, but this recipe is low in price (depending on what you put inside anyway), and you only need to let the dough rise for 30 minutes. another 25-30 minutes for cooking and you’re ready to go. I’m going to be trying this one out on my WW journey, I can see where this will be a good part of my program.

*This recipe came from Cooking Afficionado (a free cooking program)

*Ingredients:
Dough:
1 pk. yeast
1 c. warm water
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. salt
2-3/4 c. flour

Filling:
cheese, mushrooms, green pepper, onion, sausage, pepperoni, ham, bacon, chicken, olives, tomatoes, spinach, jalepeños, garlic, anchovies, hot dogs or anything else that is tasty in a calzone!
1 jar spaghetti or pizza sauce
1 tsp. italian seasoning
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. butter or margarine

*Preparation:
Dough:
1) dissolve 1 pk. yeast in 1 cup warm water.
2) mix 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 tbsp. oil, 1 tsp. salt, 2-3/4 c. flour to yeast and water.
3) mix together till smooth. knead and cover for 30 min.

Roll out dough in about a 10″ circle. Place 1 cup of sauce in the center of the dough and then place the cheese on top of that. Layer on the ingredients you have chosen (it is okay to pack it full).

Place on a greased cookie sheet. About 5 minutes before it is done, brush with butter (this makes a delicious difference). Cook for a total of 20 - 25 minutes @ 375° or until golden brown.

HINT: Half the recipe for 2 small-medium calzones. This makes an awesome pizza crust too!

*Preparation Time: 20 min.
*Yield: 2 - 4 servings

Bankruptcy is not something that should be taken lightly nor entered into without considering all of the consequences. It should only be used as a very last resort. In the past I have had some very bad credit problems and have ended up actually filing for bankruptcy. My thinking was, either I pay for one of our vehicles or I bought food for the family. Guess which one won? And only three years ago my family got into the worst situation ever. We had a ton of credit cards and then we bought a home. There was no problem; we were paying our bills on time and I had ten A1 grades in my credit report. But we had not even made our first house payment when I got canned. And right after that my husband took a pay cut in order to go from 80 hours a week down to 40 hours a week. The city decided to annex our neighborhood, so that added an additional $1200 per year to the mix. We worked very hard with our mortgage company to try to get the monthly payment lowered, and in the interim they said we should pay only $350 a month. After three months they would lower the monthly price permanently. But guess what? They sold our paper right about that time, and although they said the new mortgage company would continue with what they had been doing; we were required to start all over in applying. They decided that they could only lower the monthly payment about $200 which did us no good at all. It was at that time that the additional taxes were levied against the property. I knew we were in trouble and we had no option at all but to give up the house. But before you get into this situation, perhaps you could look at Bills dot com and see if they might have a solution for you that will let you perhaps consolidate your bills which lets you pay a much smaller amount per month, or some other solution that would help. Although many companies try to discourage people from filing bankruptcy, sometimes it’s the only solution. After only two years you would be able to get credit again. But the credit report will show a bankruptcy for 10 years and you will not likely be able to buy another home. This I am not sure of. But please, before your situation gets as bad as ours, be sure to look into every available option as quickly as possible.

My daughter is still in the childbearing years and although she doesn’t plan on having any more children, she has friends who still are having them. So she likes to look at baby things all of the time. She came across a site with a lot of baby bedding, some of it is high dollar and some of it isn’t. The site also had some interesting things for pregnant women. Here’s a picture of just one of their bedding sets, for boys.

Baby Bedding

She also showed me this wonderful idea for pregnant women, a large pillow that is designed to support a woman’s pregnant belly, in order to make it more comfortable to sleep. Sleeping is definitely not an easy thing to do when you are further along. There were a few other items that I had not seen before, she had to make me go to the site and look, lol, so I did see a few items. Why is it that they always seem to come out with these new things after you no longer need them? Anyway, Baby and Maternity Shopping Mart have a lot of the things an expectant Mother will need for her nursery.

Ever see the movie ‘Friends with Money’? I saw it and it was a pretty good show. It focused on four friends, three of whom were comfortably off financially and the third who was not. Naturally the one who was not as endowed with money often felt uncomfortable around her friends, especially when they went shopping. It is hard to see your friends being able to buy expensive things that you cannot - for some people. It is not and has never been hard for me. It doesn’t bother me if my friends and family have more money than I do and I never feel jealous of anything they own. I might be impressed with something they buy just because it is so awesome, but am never resentful that I can’t afford it too.

In the same vein, it is difficult to have friends who do not have money and who always have money problems. It’s easy to feel guilty for being able to buy something when you know that a friend could never afford such a thing. But although this does not keep me from being friends with them, it is uncomfortable mentioning purchases. There are so many people these days that have little money, often not enough to live on, and this does make one tend to feel guilty for not being in the same boat. I have been in that boat several times in my lifetime and have never expected that someone else should be responsible for helping me out. Yet when help was offered, at one point I was unable to refuse simply due to the situation that I was in. If children had not been involved, I would have refused the help.

But when you find yourself with some extra money, putting it aside for a rainy day is a very good idea. We never know when the situation will change for the worse, so having this savings can save us. At this stage in my life, I don’t need much and don’t want much, other than being able to pay our bills. While it is true that we have debts we cannot pay, at least we can pay our current bills and afford food. And thanks to PayPerPost and PayU2Blog, I even have a little nest egg so that my family can actually have a decent Christmas this year. Last year I only had $300 to spend on four children, and that doesn’t allow for much of a Christmas for anyone. I am saving all of the money I make from these advertising posts to use for Christmas and I can safely breathe a sigh of relief that this is possible.

This is my oldest Granddaughter, Destiny. Although people who do not know her think she is about 16, she is only 12. She will be 13 on the 29th of this month though. She recently went and had some bangs added in and her ends trimmed. The bangs are cute on her aren’t they? She is a typical teenager, an age that I thought I would never have to go through again, but am. Because she has lived with myself and my husband for the last 4-5 years, she has become a part of our family unit, even though her Mother is also living with us at this time. We assume care for her needs and wants and I help her with her schoolwork, often having to resort to looking things up on the Internet, since the Math she is doing at school is not Math that I ever did in High School. I expect in the next year or so that I will no longer be able to help her with this, if it continues on to the type of Math that my nephew once showed me that he had in High School. She is an outgoing girl and well behaved when she visits the home of her friends. All of their Mother’s have always reported back to me that she is a very nice girl who minds them. In our past home she had plenty of friends. In fact, they were at our home almost every day of the week! This often made me feel like I had many other Granddaughters and we did not mind them being over at our home. She visited theirs equally as much, some living in houses and some living in trailers, we were not picky about the type of home they had. But where we are living now, although she has friends at school, she has yet to find friends to do things with after school. This can be very upsetting to anyone but especially to a teenager. She loves to go skating and to the local water park and she is active on MySpace and this is how she keeps in contact with her old friends. But like most other teenagers, she also constantly wants things; clothes, games, shoes, nails, etc She minds me most of the time but she also tries to slide by, just like other kids, when she doesn’t want to do something that I want her to do. All in all, she is a great kid and anyone would be lucky to have her as a friend.

Sometimes we all need a little help with our cash on hand. There are times when you just do not have enough money to pay bills that you can’t do without, like electricity or water, yet you need that cash to buy food and gas with. I know how it is and I’ve been in that situation before just like I’m sure many others have been. My solution was a Payday Loan. The cost of this loan if considered as interest would probably be considered high, but the small amount that we had to pay for the extra money was worth it for us. And because we couldn’t pay it back right away without compromising another bill, it took us two months before we could stop renewing our loan. Luckily today there are Online Payday Loans which make it a lot easier to find somewhere to get those types of loans. If your credit is okay then you would be better off looking for a conventional loan with your bank or credit union. But for those of us who find ourselves with our backs against the wall; this option can save our lives.
