We are relocating from Detroit to the UK in Fall of 2008. We have a beagle and we would like for him to come with us.
But, it takes a lot of effort to paddle across the pond. That’s where we need your help.
One of the most common reasons that dogs end up in shelters is because their owners cannot bring them along when they relocate. Once a dog gets to a shelter, they have a very short time to assert themselves as being a viable candidate for adoption.
This blog has a dual purpose. The reason that it was built was to help raise the funds needed to help Petey swim along with us on our journey to the UK. However, that feels too selfish and in the spirit of good karma and good stewardship, we want to send a significant portion of money that is donated to the Humane Society of the United States to help in their outreach efforts; in particular matching adopters to pets that need homes.
