the consequences of falling - a love affair remembered
http://theconsequencesoffalling.blogspot.com
So love comes and sweeps the ground from under your feet, but as we fling open the door to a passion that is limited only by the hours in the day and the poverty of words, torment also slips in beneath our gaze.
Sarah had been recently widowed, was the mother of two young boys and lived in London. She also owned a cottage in the South East of England. I had been divorced for a year or so. Desperate to leave London I answered an advertisement to rent a house deep in the countryside. The agent showed me around Sarah's cottage. The place was still and quiet, almost as though it was holding it's breath. I knew immediately that I would take it.
I met Sarah at the house a week later. The walls seemed to exhale as we drifted enchanted with each other, from room to room; the sunlight snatching at the shadows as we fell beneath a spell.
This is the story of an intense relationship between a man and woman as chronicled through their daily email's. It is an intimate narrative, at times brutally honest, sensual and explicit. It is also a celebration of love.
It began in the spring of 2007 and ended in the autumn of 2009.
