Formed in the summer of 2008, The Difference began when an overdue collaboration between producer/MCs Nufferson and LeShaun spawned a couple unfinished tracks and some remixes featuring fellow DJ/MC Sinzere.
After that came a little hiatus. The idea to have TL in the group was there from the beginning, but it wasn’t until LeShaun and Alpha began to collab on some beats, concepts and chorus’ that TL was reached out to. By that time, the three of them were making track after track, and Nufferson slowly upped his verse count on the tracks as well.
Sinzere was back in the picture after a studio session had her drop a couple verses and chorus’ to some empty instrumentals during the others’ writer’s block. Another session brought her sister, Shaniqua (Qua) to the mic. Dropping the chorus to “Steppin’ Out Tonight” solidified her as a powerful voice in the singing department.
Now, many tracks and performances later, the group is finally releasing their debut mixtape, Doin’ Somethin’ Different | Vol 1, a collection of bangers and hard hitters, never confined by the laws of genre. And this is just the beginning. They’re doin’ somethin’ different.
