Traveling With Audiophile CansLast year I was traveling a LOT. I missed my music so I started toting my DAC, DIY USB to SPDIF converter, PPAv2 headphone amplifier, and Grado Sr60 or Sennheiser HD580 cans. It was a bulky setup but well worth the effor...

This post is post 3 or 3 in the Sr80i review.Grado Sr80i RecapMy initial listening with the Sr80i cans was with an Apple iPod. The Sr80i headphones sounded above average but I suspected there was much left on the table. My suspensions were correct. T...

I am still working on Part 2 of the SR-80i review. While I was working on the review I couldn't help but notice that Axiom Audio, to whom I have zero relation, has a July 2009 feature titled "The Frugal Audiophile". This article suggest a no frills ...

I'm looking at getting some type of DAC. I was wondering what you thought about using a something like the Zero DAC vs a recording type DAC device such as the M-Audio FireWire Solo. Let's pretend that I'm using them solely for the listening function and not any recording function.

Thank you
