The Public Intellectual
http://publicintellectual.wordpress.com/
Patriotism is not achieved by putting the American flag on your pick up truck. "Supporting our troops" entails wanting them to come home in one piece NOW rather than in striped boxes LATER. The Public Intellectual practices "Patriotism 2.0" in its attempt to reclaim the founding fathers and American pride from those who are misrepresenting it (i.e., neo-conservatives and the "jesus Hates Fags" Right). It's been fun for awhile to win arguments against these "pseudo-patriots" but now it is time for a change. It's time for us dissenting bloggers to become the morally and intellectually superior human beings that our typing fingers have long proclaimed us to be. This blog aims to recover patriotism from its hijackers.
