There's a Plunger in My Tree -- and other chaos remembered in tranquility

"Humor is emotional chaos remembered in tranquility." (James Thurber)
I like that definition so much that I borrowed from it for the subtitle of my first book of humor columns, "There's a Plunger in My Tree."
The columns are published by my hometown newspaper, "The Stowe Reporter."
The town of Stowe, Vermont has a population of about 5800, many of whom seem to like what I write. But a writer is always looking for a larger audience; so my blog will be my column.
Here are a few quotes lifted from past columns. I hope they'll give you the flavor of what I write.
ON MAKING MONEY
I learned to make money at my father’s knee. It was an incongruous sight, as I was thirty-five at the time.
ON WARDROBE CONSIDERATIONS
I only wear clothes to keep from getting arrested. The perfect crease, the total absence of stains – these are matters with which I have chosen not to wrestle.
ON BEING ASKED TO TASTE A GLASS OF WINE
I swirled it around, admired its legs, stuck my nose in it – did everything but take it up to a bedroom; and then, fairly drooling with anticipation, I tasted."
ON BUYING A RESTAURANT
“Let’s buy another restaurant,” I said one evening at dinner to my unsuspecting wife – the very same wife who had made me promise, on the day that we had sold our last restaurant, that the next time I got the urge to own a restaurant, I would lie down on the floor until it passed.

Today is a really great day for I have found another great writer. This means this author has that special something and treats our English language with respect. A quite interesting blog and one I shall continue to visit. You should too. SKDD / HMM / BRWHA
