  • Staying Inside Seems Like a Good Idea

Posted on Thursday November 12th, 2009 at 13:08 in illness, the human condition, tasks

Good news: I fell better today. More specifically, I can get mildly interested in the idea of being alive. Bad news: Apparently I'm not over whatever I've got. My temp's about 99.8 - which is high, even for me.So, plans change: I'm staying in this af...

  • I have Definitely Felt Better Than This - And Worse

Posted on Tuesday November 10th, 2009 at 17:23 in illness, the human condition, tasks

My temperature went over 100 late this afternoon. That was good news, in a way: not I've got an idea of why I feel the way I do. And, whatever is wrong inside: my immune system is doing its job. That's the good news. The bad news is that, despite 11 h...

  • The Startling Case of the Rabbit, the Refrigerator, and the Notepad

Posted on Friday November 6th, 2009 at 22:50 in rabbits

Giol, #1 daughter's rabbit, had quite a fright this evening. As he was stretching out to a more relaxed position under a kitchen chair, a notepad fell off the refrigerator. It's amazing, how fast a rabbit can get on his feet.I don't think he's too tr...

  • Rain, Coffee, Family and Scrabble

Posted on Tuesday November 3rd, 2009 at 23:49 in family, coffee, weather, extended family

I'm caught up, in another blog (Apathetic Lemming of the North), from that trip to Chicago - about a month after our return. The skies wouldn't fall if I didn't keep up that 'three posts a day' quota I set for that blog: but it doesn't hurt to mainta...

  • Son-in-Law\'s Birthday

Posted on Tuesday November 3rd, 2009 at 00:58 in family, birthdays, extended family

Another day of "October's bright blue weather" - in November - and I stayed in all day. On the up side, I got the day's tasks done - with time left over to enjoy #2 daughter and my new son-in-law. And their dog, Sprocket: a somewhat over-bred and qui...

  • Sunday Night: Wrapping Up

Posted on Sunday November 1st, 2009 at 21:37 in illness, rabbits, grilling, the human condition

I'm getting ready to wrap thing up for the day. My son and I finished reading Garfield and singing a few minutes ago, my wife and #3 daughter are watching "The A Team" in the living room, and Giol, #1 daughter's rabbit is relaxed on the kitchen floor...

Please bring back the camera in your yard. For some strange reason I like looking at it. Perhaps it's the fasination of a place so far removed from me (I live in Tusaloosa Alabama).Watching everyday goings on in your neighborhood reminds me that no matter how far apart we are, life is the same there as it is here. (Except for the winter of course!)
I also enjoy reading your blog.
