Toews 'R Us -- a family cruisning and sailing adventure

http://www.toewsrus.com/sailing

These are the adventures of the Toews family as they trek into the unknown on a sailing adventure. None of them have ever really been sailing, but they’re taking off on an open ended family cruise. “Sell the house, pack the bags and grab the kids honey, we’re taking off!”

What a beautiful place. And the bargain of the century. Savannah’s waterfront park has dock space that is free for 3 hours, and only $1.00 a foot per day. The deal comes when you try to pay. No one will take your money. It seems that there̵...

  • The Fouling of the Anchor

Posted on Thursday October 29th, 2009 at 19:36

We’ve had our anchor chain fouled before, but this time it was the anchor. At first I thought the anchor just needed to be popped free from the bottom, so I gave it a little throttle. CRACK, SNAPPLE AND POP! We just busted our anchor roller, ti...

While recently combing the beach at Capers Island, South Carolina, we were appalled at the amount of trash we saw. Unfortunately there’s no one to clean it up there. We decided to put a small, very small, dent in the trash on the beach. But wha...

Very cool! I loved Salem, wanted to anchor there myself, but I only got to visit by land. Anyway, I am thrilled for you about your getting to travel. I am going to be sailing to Key West in about a year, then leaving for a circumnavigation 2010. I hope I get to chat with you some.
