Ever since the first stone was put for the foundation of Coliseum, people were demanding of bread and spectacle. The more mankind was involved into the process of culture consumption, the more perfect was the show. From the positive hero of Middle age with dignity, honor, sincerity, courage and kindness, modern culture is now focused on the simple person, who is not without flaw. The viewer deviates from the study of cultural and historical background, focusing on details of living of the common person.
The desire to look in someone�s life has lead to the rise of such television entertainment genres like reality shows. The most important salt of the show consists in spontaneous plot, which is not scheduled before. In other words the script itself does not exist. The second feature is that the participants are not professional actors, but ordinary people. This helps the viewer to identify himself with the characters, feel with such ordinary people like themselves, and feel in their place. The magnet for the attraction of such a broad audience are real characters emotions, but not from the script. The viewer is convinced that he is not just the witness of the spectacle, but the part of real people�s life.
The main purpose of the reality show is to compensate the lack of communication in the viewer, to give him failing sensations and emotional explosion. This function has remained unchanged with the advent of the first project �Hidden Microphone� (1947) till nowadays. However the progress in the development of informational technologies has influenced on the form of show presentation, as well as the appearance of some details. So, the first reality show was in the form of broadcast, in 1950 the first TV reality show appeared. Nowadays the format of the project was subjected to such changes that the viewer gets the full presence effect. The Starinside reality show provides the opportunity not only to watch the ideal girl�s life anytime, but also influence events in their lives, ask questions, ask for advice, make a present, influence on lunch menu, etc. To ensure smooth communication, Star Inside project uses the help of secretaries, whose responsibilities are to reply to the most frequently asked questions as well as the oral comments of characters on the viewers� letters. Such a solution saves time for correspondence and guarantees the response to each letter from the audience.
Nowadays the most popular world TV shows are Big Brother, the Hunger, Survivor, the Osborne�s, etc. There are also new promising projects, such as StarInside.tv, Dances with the Stars etc. Reality shows will be at the peak of attention until there is a lack of communication and lack of tickle emotions, until the life of the common person remains the most interesting event in the life of all mankind.
