Jewelry is taking a front and center role this season. The necklaces are big and make a major statement with fashion. The retro influences are seen at the haute couture level and have already filtered down to the major retailers like J. Crew, Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor, Talbots, and Bloomingdales. Earrings are getting bigger, pins are huge and bracelets are on steroids! The demure little thin necklace with a tiny diamond or other gem are falling way behind in the trends. Bigger is better and this is only the beginning of the trend.

I thinkn jewelry has always been a popular accessory in urban culture. Now days, the bigger and more shiny, the better. However, i saw in one blog on www.urbanthoughtcollective.com where celebrities are auctioning off the bling. Guess urban culture is evolving!
