Many have tried, and many have failed at making a saw blade that cuts and sands at the same time. Usually the sanding paper was not strong enough to endure more than just a few cuts, or it wasn't set quite right to actually sand the work piece. Finally there is a new saw blade that allows one to cut and sand at the same time, and the cuts are actually glue-ready.
This innovation in Saw Blade Technology is from Final Cut. The Final Cut Saw Blades have been around for a while, but haven't had much recognition until Fine WoodWorking wrote a review boasting about the quality and smoothness of the cuts. Final Cut Saw Blades are quite versatile, as they can be used to make rip cuts, crosscuts, and have replacement sanding discs that can be used on just about any table saw blade or power miter box blade. Final Cut Saw Blades don't rely on the number of teeth to help smooth the cut. Final Cut Saw Blades work because the sanding disc is slightly wider than the kerf of the blade, allowing the blade to make the cut, and the disc to properly sand the workpiece in one easy pass.
The Final Cut Saw Blades are priced fairly competitively for the quality of the blade, but can be found cheaper if you don't buy directly from their site. If you do a google search or go on google product base, you can find them for a good deal.
