Reading and Writing Redux
It has come to my attention that May is Get Caught Reading month, which seems timely since I just did a post on Reading and Writing. Anything we can do to promote the cause of reading is a good thing......
Reading and Writing
I've been slacking. Since arriving home from Nashville late on Saturday night (actually it was early Sunday morning) I've been pretty much Not Writing, which is a specific state of being characterized by a constant awareness that I'm doing everything...
It's Off to Home I Go....
I'm heading back to Portland this afternoon, and I am, as always, sorry to leave Nashville. I am not, however, sorry to leave the weather behind. Yesterday there were tornado warnings which were relayed to me through a sort of......
How to Learn to Write
Reading as a Writer Last night Terry Price and I hosted a dinner for the new students entering the Loft, and, big surprise, the conversation was all about writing. One of the things that Terry talked about was how, in......
Writing Away From Home
I'm in Nashville, which is beautiful and warm (although pretty much anything is probably warm compared to Portland) and would be perfect in every way except for....the pollen. Which has me sneezing and my eyes running and itching in a......

Thank you so much for your visit. I hope you have the time to stop by again sometime. I know there's commentary to be made on the content of my writing, but I'd appreciate an expert opinion of how the content is delivered. Some posts are rough (especially the early ones) but some may show a little promise. I know you've seen that level of writing before. While I fulfill my need for expression of the content, I must work on continuous improvement and consistency to have it all make sense. Your site helps with both attributes. Thank you again.

I've been trying to write for years, started a couple novels but after the second or third chapter I seem to lose interest in the project. Any suggestions to stay on track.

Excellent I have been found by someone who can give tips on how to brush up my writing skills, especially grammar. The its or it's, when to put a comma and when not to, and is it OK to break the grammar rules if it sounds right. Lovely, then maybe you can share your strumpeting skills to help hook me some regular customers!
