Then I must be making your brain bleed: I am a green architect who works on green buildings using sustainable materials.

I work on commercial interiors, but I would be happy to point you in the right direction. There are tons of resources online for people looking to build a green home. USGBC is a great place to start.
I would be happy to give you advice on home design and floor plan design, but I am not licensed to create drawings for permit on my own. I still have another year of internship (6 down, 1 to go) and about 9 exams to take before I can do that. -
Oh, I was speaking on less of an advisory role and more of a hands on role. If we can successfully navigate the zoning and permits here (without pulling out all of our hair) I was thinking about starting a little company....
Now, that would be years down the road - but If I'm gonna do it, I have to start planning now
From what I gather it takes about 2 years to get an alternative building permit in the area - so...you know, no time like the present. BUT....maybe down the line I might be in need of an equally green partner who is awesomely talented

For me, as usual the debate is fake because it's never about the HOW.
Going Green (the WHAT) is not the question. We should have gone green since one century at least, since the Industrial Revolution.
So the problem is not about going green, it's about HOW we will go green:
- If it is just a pretext for the rich countries to find a new way to funnel huge debts to enslave poor countries to build costfull but inefficient plants to depollute water for example and increase the price of water by 300% so that the poors will die by dehydratation, I say no.
- If it is about taxing thousand of Billions the whole planet under the guise of fixing the Global Warming by spreading chemicals in the atmosphere that will create Cancers who would kill 50 millions people until 2050 (more than World War II) especially oldest and youngest according to OMC, I say no
- If it is about the hypocrit carbon quotas that Big Companies can buy and sell in stock market I say no because they have managed to put the quota so high that they will never be annoyed.
Etc.
Whereas :
- If it is about using efficient alternative energy that reduces both cost and pollution for rich and poor countries, I say yes
- If it is about finding objectively the true cause of Global Warming and not use the hype for political aim.
- If it is about putting the responsabilities of environment of Big companies not only on the CEO but also on their Administrators-Investors who are the real masters of these companies whereas the CEO is just their puppets that they conveniently change when public opinion requires it. -

Must hate Brad Pitt for putting pink tents in New Orleans because the government's too slow to build, Wyclef Jean who educates Haitian born women and children living in poverty, Tippi Heddren who takes in abused exoctic animals, Micheal J. Fox for having parkinsons because they're all "hypocrits" you know.

Yeah it's all just talk isn't it. The sad fact is people will not become true believers because things happen over a few years and they just accept it. The slow decline of it all. Right well that's okay I guess right? new post for earth day: www.improvisationaloblivion.blogspot.com
