Number one thing virus outbreaks in movies teach us: It's always the monkeys fault.
    1. Epicharis
      that is actually number 1...
    2. Stillthinking
I saw that after I made my smarmy comment.

They left out that in the plucky band of survivors, the blond girl will hook up with the unassuming, highly dangerous leader.

I read this earlier (thank you, IMDb).

It's all so true. I'd probably be the character who dies first.
    1. Stillthinking
No, the black guy always dies first.
    2. Friday13
Well, if I stand in the sun and get a strong enough tan, the black guy might be saved!
    3. Sam1982
I thought it was the young guy who always shows the picture of his wife and kids to his team.
The black guy is one of the last ones to go - he's needed for comic relief and use of "street" lingo the the kids will relate to
    4. Friday13
Oh, right. I always get these things wrong. In some cases, the black guy is the sole survivor!

For my sake, I hope the virus is smart enough know this.

(then again, I'd be a very useless part of the plot, so I'd just throw myself into the pit of, uh ... virii, and save you guys the trouble of helping me up when I trip over and fall)

    Watch out for Cookingasshole...
  4. Epicharis
I reckon we should do an 'End of the World' scenario...see who plays which character type...

..ooh!! SWINE FLU PANDEMIC BC FANFIC!!!
  5. Anok
    KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!
    1. Sam1982
Or we vaccinate one another either by injecting or drinking from the vials containing the blue liquid - assuming the vials with green or red liquids are the virus itself
    2. Anok
Yep, but only if we are at a crucial moment. If you take the blue liquid too early, or as a preventative, you'll die. (Or so you think).
    3. Sam1982
Of course, because the vaccine is a strain of the virus itself and taking it too early would give the virus far too much time to mutate in ones system and create a super virus - leaving the story wide open for a sequel
    4. Anok
      Good catch

Oh, we can't forget the one brave soul who is immune to all of it, and offers their blood for a better vaccine in that sequel....
    5. Friday13
We'll have to hire a composer or something. That part's going to need some sad tunes!
    6. Sam1982
I suggest danny elfman - he can also do upbeat tunes like the desperate housewives themesong
    7. Friday13
Ah, yes ... Danny Elfman is my favorite. If we get him, he might be able to convince Tim Burton. Now that would be a twisted (in a good way) sequel.
    8. Sam1982
So starring alongside Depp and Bonham-Carter-Burton would also be a given then
    9. Friday13
Hey, if the formula works ...

The post you referenced did not mention the finest example of this genre ie The Andromeda Strain (1971). Calls themselves a geek. Blasphemy!

      Check #4, it is mentioned!
    2. Agit8r
There's no geeks here on the interweb o_O
    3. polybore
They don't specify the version and it hardly gets half a sentence. Burn them.
    4. Friday13
      All right.

      *douses them with gasoline*

Anyone got a lighter, match or gun?
