oh no! LOL. Being a native Alabamian, I'm usually trying to hide my redneckedness. Unfortunately anything "southern" or "country" in nature has been labelled such in a negative fashion - sort of a new aged way for "progressive" types to call you a racist.
  2. kellybax
Good point. It must make those "progressive types" feel better about themselves somehow to go around labeling everybody else. I reiterate my point #11!

Funny I didn't put those things down as being unique to one group
    1. kellybax
They are not necessarily unique to that group. I was describing the people (which happens to be my in-laws/their friends/extended family) that introduced me to those things.
    2. jafabrit
Are you telling me you didn't already know how to have a great time, or some of the other things on the list ;)like 1,4,6,8,10,11.

      Ah Bluegrass is WONDERFUL!
    3. kellybax
@jafabrit: Yes, I am saying that for the most part. They really showed me how to let loose and have a good time. I used to be a lot more conservative and sort of shy. Being around them over the years changed me for the better when it comes to just letting go a little bit and relaxing.
    4. jafabrit
      It's a lovely feeling isn't it
    5. kellybax
      Indeed

I agree with everything except NASCAR. Still can't get into guys driving in circles.
    1. jafabrit
yes, the NASCAR doesn't do it for me either, but then I have never really been into watching sports (well I do enjoy watching a soccer match now and again).

It is delightful chugging down a beer watching a game and shouting bollocks at the telly every five mins.
    2. BennyGreenberg
and what a waste of gas - such a "green sport"
    3. JanelleV
I don't really get NASCAR.. All they do is drive in circles! How exciting -- *he's turning right* : ]
  5. Anok
Ha! And with the exception of the Nascar reason - that's why I love Punk Rock and all those crazy Punk rockers - and skins, and rudies....
  6. BennyGreenberg
What? You saying the Opera Crowd does not know how to let loose? - I will have you know - that the Martinis at Poopsies last week were devine
    1. jafabrit
AND you can still sing bollocks at Poopsies, in a refined way of course
    2. BennyGreenberg
      why of course
  7. baldeagle
You wearing the Daisy Dukes? I love those!
    1. kellybax
They are all packed and ready to go!
    2. BennyGreenberg
Kelly in Daisy Dukes - who has the camera?
    3. baldeagle
      My point exactly!

Living in NC, I see my fair share of rednecks. Sorry, but I'm not such a big fan of all things redneck. To each his own, though.
  9. flamingpoodle
Oh and 13. they REALLY know how to have a good time!
    1. kellybax
      Thanks, forgot that one!

I used to be into NASCAR racing back in the '70s when Richard Petty was king and the drivers were all rednecks. Now it seems like there's too much money in it. Of course, that's the problem with all sports these days.

As I told my mother I never started to feel like a real redneck until
I licked the nectar out of honeysuckle, drank out of mason jars, found out Sweat tea is every where here, been all bit up by chiggers, found out that you don't push buttons here instead we MASH them, and last but not least, or said I'd smack my mamma because someone's cooking was just that good! lol..

Ok, maybe I have always been a little on the Redneck side a little~ letting my children swim in the horses water tanks an all BEFORE we moved south..lol..

I still don't drink beer and even tho we own the build right next door to Talladega Speedway I have never been there.
