$ 1Million is enough for you?

Would that kind of money be enough for you to enjoy your life? Or you'd try to make more?

hahaha........... You can't even buy a decent house for one mil in my area. And how would you pay property taxes after you buy a mediocre house? There wouldn't be any money left after that...... -

i could get a modest home for just me, a new car, some new gadgets like a new laptop, and go about my business as usual. of course i would invest a portion to try to make more money over time. -
How come got such a big canned food known as SPAM?-

I plan to live quite awhile longer and if you divide out a million bucks over that many years, it really wouldn't be all that much to live on in my area. -
500k is good enough to make me feel secure. I'd save 500k for my own expenses and for family and the use other 500k for business. -
$1 million USD is roughly equivalent to R10 million ZAR, a pretty decent nest egg.
You can buy a middle-class house here for under $100,000, pay a maid to come in daily for $200/mo, and easily feed a family of four on $100 a week...and that is buying steak a couple of times a week and strawberries in winter (it is winter here and I just bought nearly a pound of imported strawberries for the equivalent of $2.95).
So, yah...$1 million USD would be quite enough for me! -

I don't understand why people always want to spend their money when they get it? Do you know how much interest 1 million dollars will get you a year, even at a 1% interest rate? $10k a year, that's a lot of money to an average household. And interest rates are much higher, even in these troubles times you can still get 3 or 4% at a decent bank, meaning you'd get $40k a year, which translates to about $3500,- a month without having to do a damn thing.
So what would I do with 1 million? I'd put it in the bank and make it multiply.-
I would buy a house, a modest one and bank the rest.

In a space of a month or a year, I'd say of course.
Over a space of a lifetime i'd say no.-
why would you say no? Even if its only a few bucks a day, that a few dollars you didn't have before.

A million is fine for me...new home, new car, some toys (seriously, toys for my children) and a vacation, that's it. -

1 million is more than enough. If you can be easily contented. Then it will be.

It depends on where you live.
I lived in Silicon Valley and $1M would not allow you to live comfortably without additional income.
Here in South Africa, it would be worth between R8 mil and R10 mil, respectable amounts of money that will allow you to make sufficient investments to live comfortably, if not richly, for a long time.
