2012 is not the end. VEDAS [the transcendental knowledge] are the spiritual literatures of ancient Indian culture. You may or may not believe, these literatures had information about branches such as avionics, metallurgy, atomic science, etc. Vedas have answered all questions about Universe. check this out- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_cosmology#Creation_of_the_Universe Vedas say we still have 426,899 years. So you can keep blogging!

Just curious but why's 2012 supposed to be the end in the first place???
    1. LynneaUrania
I don't know. Neither do the Mayan elders today. They who represent the Mayan prophecies also reject the idea that 2012 is the end of the world.
    2. filipinonumismatis
It is actually misinterpreted as the end of the world but it is the end of the Age. From the Age of Pieces, we are now entering the Age of Aquarius. I hope this info helps.
  2. Arnous81
No one knows or never knew when the end of the world will be.
  3. busylizzy
    It's the end of 2011!

Sorry, didn't mean any disrespect. Couldn't help myself with an ignorant answer.

  4. arjunu
actually the mayan calendar predicts 2012 as the end of the world. science says earth gonna be at the center of the solar system in 2012 which may trigger a cosmic disaster. whoa! the world's worried about the end. how come you don't know, sriraminhell?
    1. hatingtherain
Do you mean the solar system will be aligned with the center of the galactic plane? Or maybe the sun aligns with the center of the Milky Way in the sky. Or something like that. I get what you're saying though, I've read something like that, but i can't remember exactly what it was.

I remember it was really interesting, and made sense whan I read it.

I was reading about 2012 yesterday. There is supposed to be a pole shift around 2012, in which the magnetic field would disappear during the transition period. It is said the antenna/HAARP/chemtrails programme is in part to maintain the electromagnetic pressure on humans, when the magnetic field wanes, lest they attain a higher consciousness. Don“t know much about an end of the world though.
    1. LynneaUrania
That pole shift has already begun. The real question is whether it will accelerate precipitously around 2012 or not. And a precipitous change may also result in some pretty radical changes in landforms in the crust also.
    2. Anok
Lynnea, that's what I've been reading about as well. Too dramatic a shift = cataclysmic natural disasters.
    3. LynneaUrania
It does stand to reason. The magnetic field seems to correspond with currents of molten iron in the core. We would be naive to think that the interface between core and mantle is a smooth sphere, but even if it were, if a lot of molten iron is redirected so that the mantle's plasticity isn't supported in the same way, then there's bound to be sagging and buckling in the mantle. The crust, being as it were, the skin of an apple would likewise see displacement.

And the Mayan elders foresaw changes in landforms, including the rise of new lands to the direction of Cuba, much like Edgar Cayce's predictions that Atlantis would rise again. That would be a sight, wouldn't it?

Just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna take out a huge bank loan in December 2011 and blow the lot.

Let me in on some of it
  7. LynneaUrania
Facebook has a 2012 group that posted a question on its message board asking what people are going to loot at 2012. I could not believe how many people talked about doing heinous things before the end. You'd think people would seek ways of doing the most good instead. This is inconceivable to me.
  8. ArsenicCookies
I don't understand why people care anyway. Sure they may want to get a lot done before "the end", but if and when it ends, it is most likely not going to be able to be helped. I say live for today, do your best with what you've got and know that if and when it ends, you lived a good life
  9. arjunu
Endlessly she said is right. one may not worry if the world ends in 2012. but one may die any moment. so live for today, live for yourself.

Whether or not 2012 is an end, every end is a new beginning. My stepdad asked me the other day if 2012 is not the end, then why did the Mayans not continue the calendar after that... Well obviously, I told him, they thought they'd done it far enough in advance that they didn't need to extend it any further at that time. Then one thing led to another, and it never got updated. Duh! So now we have an extensive calendar that seems to end in 2012 for no good reason. I think my reasoning is perfectly... reasonable, no?

Whether we get aligned with the galactic center at that time or the poles shift or some as yet unknown event happens, it's just the end of one era and the beginning of another. Maybe we need some S**t shaken up. I have a feeling, one way or another, humanity is going to change and has already been in the process of changing for some time. Some people say we will transition to energy lifeforms. Maybe some of us will. But I think it's a process, not a flash-bang and we're done type thing. 2012 may be the point where the human race takes collective notice of these changes or the changes shift from perceptual (empaths, psychics, clairvoyants, etc) to physiological. Cancer has been on the rise for decades. Maybe it's just the forefront of a much more widespread mutation. Maybe it's time for use to take charge of our bodies and "activate" our junk DNA as some have theorized.

Maybe I have lots of theories and no answers, but that's all anyone has until we get to 2012. I'd rather not worry about something that may not happen in a way that anyone can anticipate. Actually, I feel that worrying is only likely to make things worse, like a negative affirmation. The universe does tend to give you what you expect most. So if you're a worrywart and most everyone else is also playing the worrywart, you all may just be jinxing the entire planet with your "disturbance in the force." ;-)

It's just life. It's not like it's permanent. Laugh a little. If you can't laugh at yourself, you don't deserve to laugh at anyone else.
    1. LynneaUrania
Yup...kind of like Y2K. I remember how crazy construction was the year before that. It was as if men were saying, "Quick! Get your building built before Y2K blows out your bank account!" All kinds of insanity. Then we hit the year 2000 and the lights didn't go out. I spent New Years Day posing for a local photographer on a deserted beach at the Golden Gate.

so true... it's kinda the same thing with religion
  11. exit2013
I heard it's just where the Mayan calender ran out. The Mayans stopped it at 2012 for some reason. Not sure why.
    1. begga212
they mentioned that Mayans didnt mean 2012 to be "THE END", it could be "A new Age". So who knows what its going to be.
  12. Friday13
I hope not. It would suck if the world ended shortly after my college graduation.
  13. CrankyChick
Everything ends/changes one day. To me, it does not really matter what time/day...
  14. bwninzer
So many dangers in the world at any given time, who can worry about the end of the whole world? If I die when the world ends, how can I be mad at that? "Well, everyone died, I guess it was as good a time as any." Plus, what a sight it would be. I've had dreams about the end of the world before and it's always so vividly beautiful. Is that weird? Uh oh.
    1. LynneaUrania
I recently had the most fun dreams about the end of the world when parts of the sky catch fire and I can grab anyone with impunity and tackle them in a safe place so they don't get hit with the falling flames. Mmmm...mmmm...mmm!

Who says one can't go out having a good time?

I have nearly fallen over from the sight of programs on "Nostradamus and 2012." That doesn't give much time for an Arab invasion of Europe and a European resurgence at the impetus of a German with a "Trojan heart," does it? Yet this is exactly what Nostradameans have predicted for some years now...an intergenerational war. This does not make sense to me.
  16. sensico
Hey, I thought the year 2000 (Y2K) was supposed to be the end, so you mean I have to think about other years as being "the end". Well, if 2012 is going to be the end of the world then I'm stoking up on bottled water, mountain dew, and Frito Lays. I plan on graduating soon and it would actually be horrible if the world ended before I was able to become a well known scientist that created a potion to keep everyone alive...dont worry folk that just means I have to start early then.
    1. LynneaUrania
A great excuse to pig out on Mountain Dew and Frito Lays. You are making me hungry.

    its a change simply

    Very funny cartoon, Dune!
Our focus on the end of the world is simply a playground we create to think about and work through our struggle with the concept of self empowerment, as well as our need to be in control. Yes there are spiritual planes that are shifting, and yes there is an end to a "world", but with any major shift we have the choice to shift gracefully or destroy everything around us in our struggle to maintain our worldly control. So many of us are turning within and awakening (wonderful!), partially in response to the heavier, destructive shifts in the world today.

The Mayan Calendar is a day calendar, and when treated as such we can gain great knowledge and spiritual evolution from it. We have the ability to muster great personal power when we are in the moment. This makes the Mayan Calendar (as well as many other systems) ring true and continue to live after all these years.

I write Mayan daily insights based on intuitive guidance, and many have found these reminders to be of value. mayancalendar.yinyangpower.com

The long cycles are an inward spiral, and what took billions of years in the beginning is compressed into 13 years in this cycle. Hold on to your hats, the ride is still gaining momentum.

Man thought before that the world is flat.
Man thought before that it is possible to fly.
Man thought before that heart transplant is impossible.

Predictions are mere speculations, wild guess by the Mayans. After all, modern science made mistake. Is pluto a planet?

You should be glad that you live on this time to witness the truth.
...and wait until humanity achieve immortality!

Cancer cell don't die - key to immortality?
  19. Praz
See, the Earth is going to be around for another 5 billion years.

This is an entirely scientific, proven fact.

The basis for this lies in the Sun's Age.

Our Sun, a star, has lived out 4.6 billion years.

According to astronomers, it still has another 5.6 billion years before it becomes a RED GIANT STAR and swallows the planets in the solar system.

Then it will transform into a Black hole, and that will be the end of the Earth and this solar system where we are.

So, Cheer up people, it is a confirmed fact that Humanity might be around for another whole Five Billion Years.

We won't be around to see it definitely.

All the other prophecies, predictions about the world ending, apocalypses etc are entirely fictitious and hearsay.
  20. Bayho
I don't think that the world will end. We still have so many years to do so. And if it were a proven fact, I think that the whole world will be informed with it right? I don't think that Obama has anything to do with the his presidency ending in 2012. So who knows. I just know that we'll all be okay by 2013 that's for sure. there has been over 600 predictions of the world ending, and yet we are still here today

2012 will just be the culmination of what we are seeing today. Change in the financial sector, energy, housing, communication, cities, states, countries, environments, religions, cultural etc..It could be very bumpy around 2012 but whatever is destroyed can be re-built.
  26. Haecceities
Nothing will happen on this date apart from the fact that people living on this hoax will loose their source of income. They need to search for some other ancient myth that they can twist.

Where does it says that the Veda books have "information about branches such as avionics, metallurgy, atomic science, etc. Vedas have answered all questions about Universe"? The people who wrote the Veda books came from agricultural (or possible pastoralist) societies and of course they had no knowledge about atomic science...

Of course it's not the end.
