All that for 3 weeks that shows that you've been active. The important thing has nothing to do with how many people visit your site - it's what they do when they get there that gets you money...
Look at "Bounce Rate" on your analytics - this is the number of people that glance and go. If this is low and you have those numbers, keep it up! Also, look at your actual conversion rate - it's very important.
I tried the blog thing a few years ago and got up to about 400 hits per day within 2 weeks. Only problem was I rarely converted, so it ended up being worse that I had more hits than if I got 2 hits a day but people actually enjoyed the content and came back.
This time - by focusing almost exclusively on the content and not worrying about who comes to visit - I am seeing a nice trend of people coming back, some leave comments, and I generally form better relationships that mean more than a link exchange.
Also, your Google traffic will take time to build (you're probably still in the sandbox), but you don't want all your eggs in that basket anyway.

For comparison, after one week my blog is only at about 10-15 hits / day, just over 100 unique visits total:

I just looked at the diet plan you laid out on your blog.
Are you a dietitian? Do you have a medical degree? Do you realize you are advising your readers to eat under 500 calories a day? That is not a diet, that is starvation. If you keep up a diet that low in calories, you will destroy your body.
I lost a lot of weight through portion control and 1-2 hours of exercise a day. I had the help of a doctor, a nutritionist, a personal trainer and a psychologist. Before then, I struggled with eating disorders (bulimia and compulsive over eating). My doctor and my nutritionist both told me that the average (not overweight) woman needs to consume at least 2000 calories a day to maintain weight. To lose weight, 1750 calories a day plus daily exercise would allow the person to lose 1-2 pounds a week. Any weight loss greater than 1-2 pounds a week, you are risking serious heart and immune system damage.
If you truly have as many readers a day as you claim you do, I feel sorry for them. You're giving them terrible advice.-
Yes still thinking, i am a medical doctor, And yes i know the dangers of eating low calorie diets, but you should first realise that the way we cook our food in nigeria is different from abroad.
For example when cooking beans, these are a list of things we add.
Palm oil
fish
Cray fish
Seasonings such as maggi, currry pepper
Vegetables sometimes
Potash
Meat
All these things would add to the calorie content of the food.
When i say vegetables, the vegetable soup would include:
Meat, stockfish, palm oil, cray fish, perrywinkles, etc.
So the calorie content is much higher than when you calculate it using the different ways people make dishes.
I am a medical doctor, working in one of the well known Goevernment hospitals here in Nigeria and i mean no harm to anyone. -
I'm sorry--but I don't buy that. If you are advocating eating 500 calories a day, that is not responsible blogging. As stillthinking said, most women need to consume 2,000 calories a day to maintain their weight. If they want to lose weight, this number is reduced but only with the advice and consultation of a doctor.
I can't believe that ANY medical doctor would advocate a 500 calorie per day diet -- regardles of what country you are from. No matter where you are from, people need the same nutrition.
I have my PhD in biopsychology--I know a lot about health and I saw nothing on your site that would suggest to me that you are a licensed medical doctor.
I challenge you to prove to me that you are a licensed doctor--nowhere on your site do you suggest such a thing, so I am calling BS on you right here and now.
Bullshit on you. -
I am sure you don't mean to harm anyone, but you are harming them by telling your readers to eat 3 pieces of banana for dinner or watermelon.
I actually broke down the calorie content of your menu for day one.
Day one:
Breakfast: Two slices of wheat bread (calories: 80-100 per slice, total=200)
Lunch: Beans (prepared the way you suggest would put the calorie content around 500 calories per "fist size" serving.)
Dinner: Watermelon (0 calories.)
Even if we double the calorie allowance for beans, it comes to just over 1200 calories a day. That is nowhere near what an adult woman should be eating to lose weight responsibly.
I don't believe you're a doctor either. No doctor would be so irresponsible.
This diet is also seriously lacking in essential vitamins, calcium, protein, fiber.
Don't try to make a cultural argument to me. Basic nutrition is the same for all human beings regardless of cultural background. Every culture accommodates for a basic need for vitamins, protein, calcium, fiber in their diets.
If you knew anything about what doctors all over the world are advocating as far as proper weight loss is concerned, it would be to eat 5 small meals a day, balanced with protein, vegetables, fiber and dairy. They say to drink 5 (8 oz. glasses) of water a day. Any proper diet site would tell their readers portion control in ounces and servings.
