Do you think a blogger should be a good writer?

Indeed.Sometimes when you are excited to post what you think is a good article you miss little things like punctuation marks and this can be frustrating to readers. In my recent article about Sleepthief, I had to send the final draft to Justin for editing because it's about him and I don't want to make an article that murders my subject.
I learned the hard way when one of my articles got discussed in a fan forum. It so happened that I misspelled the last name of my sister's subject (she is a famous musician) and I was all over the forum lol. So I had to go back and made some changes and of course I apologized. Thank goodness they're understanding(also giving credit that it's a positive article). -
I also have to add that no matter how you edit, you can't be that perfect. My post above "my sister's subject" should have been " my subject's sister". Which proves the point LOL.

yes, dude, we're not writing a final edition here or in our blogs. But I believe that there shouldn't be that many errors and it should make sense. If you want great, give me something serious to write about (not sure if you've read my blog, but there will be none of that) and a deadline and it will be perfect.

I also agree.
Just to add, we have a big responsibility to our blog readers. That's why we need to make sure that our work is presentable to most sectors, at least. Somewhere along the way, we also inspire people (even the younger ones) to blog.
Just my simple analogy. We don't leave our house undone - and that should also apply to our daily blogging.
Thanks for replying guys

I'm a pretty fussy writer, but I don't expect that of everyone. Some people have an amazing spirit that shines through the lack of polish in their writing. That spirit is the most attractive thing to me.

"Good" is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I personally prefer to read blogs which show some attempt at respect for the language. There are exceptions of course, i.e. visually oriented blogs and blogs which have a unique "voice" such as my friend BabblinBob.
Then again, a lot of sins can be forgiven in favor of great content. -
If you want an audience, then the writing should be strong. It's really your only chance to emote a positive response. If you don't care then it's really a shame to waste your time and one might consider making compost instead. At least on the internet bad bloggers only use up cyberspace and not paper.

You haven't defined what a good writer is. If you mean they can effectively communicate with people that are likely to make up their audience, then, yes. If you mean they should slavishly follow some set of rules imposed by people who generally aren't all that adept at communicating in the first place, then, no.
