So I wrote up a little game in my blog today... Also I am trying something out with using different h2 tags on the titles within the entry...

So if you want to go play the game click the link below...

Okay with the self promotion out of the way, how many of you use h2/h3 tags within the blog entry itself? Has this helped your SEO? Or is this something that you don't bother with?

      You use them for different levels of headings in standard HTML.

    I use them, not sure if it has helped though, supposed to surround the title in them as well. But never tried that either.

      In wordpress isn't the title automatically surrounded by H1 tags

      I suppose it is through the css or its easily changed

      Just looked at my theme it is an H3 tag.
    4. crkian
      Mine h3 as well, h1 would be massive

      good point... I am an idiot... as always that is the lesson

      You could altert eh size of the h1 tags with css, my h2 tags are larger than my h1 ones

      sounds like a personal problem... sorry I am that bored today

      now when your site gets spidered does it go through the hierarchy of the tags or does it not matter? the only h1 tag I would have would be the blog title and I don't have it setup like that anymore... so would a search engine give more relevance to a h2 or h3 tag?

    Kevin, I don't use them on my blogs, but I've definitely seen them make an SEO difference on standard web pages.

      I have seen them mentioned. I am just trying to get a little better with SEO and my blog. I feel like it is something I need to pay a little more attention to.

    I've done extensive experiments with different h1/h2/h3 tags and titles and descriptions on my blog and it does work. If anyone is interested, you can read my results using Serendipity although any blog engine should benefit from the changes;
