So I compiled a list of 400+ or so social networking sites by niche.

I launched my site to the public last week so if you want to go and get some information about where you can grow your blog audience you may want to check these out.
(diggs, stumbles, reddits all appreciated)
Let me know if there is other information you want covered....What social media things would you like videos or instructions about?

There's also a Digg group with over 1,000 members

And there's another one with over 900 members too

You know, I'm wondering whether it would be useful to cross-reference with links to related categories at the end of each list? (Sorry, this is the librarian in me)...
For instance, at the end of the list of Female Blogs (!) you could write Related topics: family, moms, parenting, etc. with each label linking to another part of your social-network site list. It could keep people on your site longer, and help newbies to find other places to promote their blogs/engage in social networking.
... just a thought. Great page, though.

Ahhh... thankyou thankyou thankyou
You have just saved me hours of work as the new teaching semester will begin soon -
Hmmm...
I guess .."to each his/her own" .. or rather .. "to niche his/her own"
There's not one site on that list I have any interest in ... well, except for BlogCatalog. Although I am a member of Ryze, Facebook, Myspace and Dogster but do not participate .. I never heard of the rest and from a quick peak at a handful of them - I'll probably let them be.
