However, kidding aside there was in fact a new bird species recently discovered - News: Scientists Discovered A Rare New Bird Species

It is amazing how much still is there to discover. Nature is always full of surprises. My latest experience, I witnessed the lightning ball. Unfortunately, no camera at that moment, ouch!!!
So have you seen any thing unusual lately, or even something that already exists, but first time for you?

That's so true. I can't say that I have seen much to new lately, but in my guiding career there have been many. One rather amazing thing was to have been part of a discovery of a new species of gecko at the lodge that I worked at. I can't seem to find a blog post about it...guess I should write one soon.
We are still waiting to hear if it has been given a name.
I commented on manduratopearner's blog about that exact thing...that nature always has something new to discover: birdsight.com/falcons-fight-in-flight-video
