I doubt if I will make any friends with this post, but I just have to relay what I just saw here. No names mentioned, but a few days ago someone added me as a friend and as usual I will go check out these peoples blogs first before I leave a comment or do the add thing, because I am not here to have a zillion friends on my friends page. I am here to find blogs that interest me , Moon-Writer, and what I like to read. After all my main blog is about woodworking and I surely don't expect to find a whole lot of people interested in that, and I surely do not hold it against anyone. But back to the other day I received a nice little add and a "report on my blog that was nice." Just now I was looking up someones blog that I love on here and go to on a daily basis plus have their RSS, When I happened to notice on their shoutbox, word for word the same exact thing that was written to me a few days ago from a fellow blog catalog blogger.
I find this plain appalling, and this is only my opinion. If you really don't like my blog or you really aren't even checking it out, and telling the truth about what you think of it, then please don't bother. It is sooo obvious that this person just copied and pasted this same thing perhaps all over, and if not I happen to know it was done twice. Mine and this other fellow blogger. That's all, Perhaps some opinions on this?
PEACE!!!

Yes, I felt the same way when I first discovered spam.

I wouldn't take it too personally. I can see where you are upset but it seems there are some who like to post "cut and paste" comments as a way of "helping" spread the word and give fellow bloggers a pat on the back. Their heart is in the right place.

On the other hand, if they're just doing it expecting you to return favorite their blog, I can see that being a little more annoying. But I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt.

By the way, I liked your Wood Alley blog and have commented on the interesting piece about the hazards of glue with pets.

Go ahead and report it as spam if you still have the message (it's an option in your shoutbox next to the message) and believe me, it will make a difference. When enough people report, that helps trim the number of spammers that come creeping around.

There are some extremely lazy folks out there, who think these things will get them the quick way to riches. But, as anyone who understands the care and precision of woodworking (or any craft) knows, anything of quality doesn't come easy.

I see the same with reappropriated content.

The key is reporting when you need to, and just continuing to do the quality work you do. It catches up with these folks in the long run.

It happens all the time and you just need to delete them or ignore them. That is why I don't find the friends thing very useful.

First I would like to thank those who have already left a comment here. I do so appreciate it. Ya know I am pretty new to this blogging thing, Not quite a year and I never even realized that this kinda stuff can be considered spam, So have a laugh on me.I am. However I do ALWAYS like to think the very best of people and try to do so, it was just disheartening for this new comer to blogging and every thing that goes with it. It is people like you folks that replied that keeps me keeping the faith, and I want to publicly thank you all for that,

I like your woodworking blog, in fact may pay a long visit there soon as I want to do something different with my headboard on a bed. Very interesting blog. I am going to pass your url for that one to my dad, he is a woodworking king, loves it...

What I like is when, instead of saying something completely generic like "nice" they say something like "informative" which is something my blog is definitely not....

Just let it slide off I had one that said they love my blog please visit went to check and they never visited. So, I didn't visit. I value honesty a great deal.

I won't take it personally. You've got to understand these people do exist and they are just pure lazy. Nothing wrong with you....Cheers!

I wouldn't take it too seriously but I would probably be dissappointed.
