a table for one

when you're dining solo do you go out to eat alone, hit the drive through at a fastfood place, or stay in and cook something simple?
if you stay in do you bother cooking or Capt. Crunch it in front of the tv?

yes, I'm eating alone tonight and almost did have cereal rather than bother making something for just me

I eat out alone all the time. Not usually for dinner, mostly lunch or breakfast. It doesn't bother me.

  I prefer being alone for breakfast. I can enjoy my food, read my paper or book, and the waitress brings me coffee refills. It's a nice start to the day.
  
  Tonight I decided to eat in, I'm not real hungry and my choices in town are mostly fast food. I'm making scrambled eggs with bacon, mushrooms, and artichoke hearts.

  Ooh, that sounds awesome! I usually have a book with me, but if not, I sit by a window and people watch.

  I always have a book with me, it's my nerdishness shining through. I enjoy people watching too.

  I'm the same. I like eating breakfast alone. I almost always eat breakfast at home. I have no hesitation when it comes to going out and eating alone. I also like sitting at the bar or counter. I do take a book along and I love people watching.

For some reason, having a book to read seems slightly less dorky. But talking on a cell or texting while eating alone is obnoxious.

  I agree that talking on a cell phone or texting during a meal is obnoxious. It's even more obnoxious when you are eating with someone else and I will not tolerate it.

I like to eat lunch alone at outdoor cafes, where I can look at people walking by.
If I eat home alone, I Always make capellini-it's ready in two minutes.

Depends on how i'm feeling. If there's something good on tv, i'll order in or cereal it. If not, i'll step out and have a meal by myself...and stare at people staring at me.
