What tea is your favorite and do you have a story that goes with it ?
Mine is gyokuro. I bought some in a temple on a hill in Japan (beautiful wooden houses!!!). The vendors thought I was decadent because this tea is only bought to give away for the New Year. It's pretty expensive and tricky to prepare (soft water, 70°C) but soooo good.

Anything from the lush mountains of Darjeeling... There are many 'Darjeelings', and the best varieties can cost you a small fortune, so I reserve those for very special occassions, just like a good bottle of wine. For me good tea and good wine are comparable.
Other favourites are the Assams and the Nilgiris. I do hate anything with an artificial flavour, like strawberry or vanilla. That is not tea, that is a grave sin. -
When I think of tea I think of all my aunts and female relatives sitting around nana's house drinking pots of the stuff and they never took off their hats.
I used to have a friend back home in England who always had her pinkie sticking out when drinking from a china cup because she thought it looked posh. -
I drink Chamomile tea when I'm over stressed. My next door neighbor,Mrs Rietano, used to babysit me when I was a child and whenever anyone had a bad day or was hurt or got in trouble her solution was a cup of chamomlie tea. I never liked the taste, still really don't, but it's soothing and always makes things seem a little better.

I've just started drinking green tea with lemon in, it's lovely. I first tried green tea in the green fields at Glastonbury, it was Tibetan green tea from a stall run by Tibetans campaigning for freedom of their country. Since then I've always been into green tea and have also started becoming interested in Tibet's history.

Ah so many teas, so many memories !
I remember as a teenager I was into the flavored black tea (not very good stuff). I mixed it with orange slices.
When I was in senior high I discovered Japanese green tea through a pen-pal.
It was genmaicha.
I stopped drinking black tea and tried differend kinds of green tea : Darjeeling, Sencha, Chinese, Taiwanese...
Then I also tried flavored green teas but good quality ones, with mostly natural flavors.
Recently the fashion started with white tea and yellow tea. I must say they are delicious, expensive though.
A few years ago in the USA, Chai tea and Camomille Herb Tea became my best friends in the cold winter of Virginia
But now I don't drink Chai anymore. It's too sweet and you can't drink it without milk.
So it's still a bit annoying to buy bottled spring water to make a decent tea, but it's worth it !

If you like green tea and natural flavor, you'll love it !!! I finally found a shop in Paris that sells the same tea. No need to buy the 65US$ one ! I discovered this tea at a Chinese friend's restaurant in Paris. I've been addicted ever since.
