I get so much junk email on this. Seems Oprah started all the commotion (or least that's what my spams are telling me). I have not tried it nor do I intend on trying it (even though I am trying to lose some weight) because the sales people/spammers are so pushy and obnoxious.

I was actually reading up on this recently. It does seem like Oprah started all this. I don't know anyone personally, who tried it. But I am curious if it really does work. I've also read a lot of articles saying that it is a scam. Let me know if it works for you! I'm trying to lose weight myself, but I'm not really sure if I would even consider "help" from things other than a healthy diet and exercise.

If losing weight is your goal, you must burn more energy than you consume. Eat Less, Move More! There are no controlled studies backing up Açai as a weight loss product. Apart from that, this berry is a great food supplement.

As far as I know Açai is more like an energetic than a miracle fruit that makes you lose weight.
Some people say it's addictive though I have ate only once and didn't have the urge to eat again. Not that I didn't like it, but it's way too expensive and you need to find a good source.

This acai berry weight loss hype is a scam. It was exposed on television as a scam last year when we watched the President of the company selling the acai berry stuff was interviewed. He appeared to be the king of weasel wording. The science makes it clear that you would have to eat tonnes of the berries for it to have an appreciable affect. The product shipped does not contain a sufficient amount to make any grandiose weight loss claims. Click this link and read all the scam reports tinyurl.com/c3ae9h

There are no magic cures when it comes to weight loss. The combination of eating small balanced meals comprised of actual whole foods, rather than processed "food products", and appropriate daily exercise is the only method that actually works.

Again people, the only thing that helps you lose weight is good old diet and exercise.
That is the most consistent way to lose weight.
There are no diet pills that can help speed up the process in a healthy way without risking heart attacks and premature death. Fruits and berries can be used as a blood cleanser
    but that's about it.

      ...and tapeworms
    2. Jeunelle
WOOO tapeworms??? What are they used for?
    3. Xight
People used to use tapeworms as a diet pill. They'd let it grow in your intestines, and then when you got to your weight you would swallow a pill that contained the poison to kill the tapeworm.

Except that since the tapeworm was taking up all the nutrition from eating all your foods, your body was weak, and in most cases you couldn't handle the poison to kill off the tapeworm.

Needless to say it got banned.

Not to mention the fact that tapeworms can also eat their way to the brain and cause major brain damage. I am reading a book now called "Parasite Rex" and it is gross.
It shows many different species of worms, parasites and crustaceans, one in particular that can devour the tongue out of a fish and takes the fish's tongue place, using it to grip and swallow prey. I've never seen anything this weird before
but this is real, no lie.

tapeworm diet? where do I send my money?
    7. timethief
Did you know that there are there are 3200 varieties of parasites in the four major categories, Protozoa, Trematoda, Cestoda and Nematoda that infect humans? Tapeworms belong to a branch of the platyhelminths known as the cestodes and are entirely parasitic.
    8. Jeunelle
Liquid Wormwood is used to kill off internal worms and parasites.

I have it in my herbal tea every six months. I am sorry to say people but every living human being has worms. Eating sushi, uncooked raw meats, fruits and vegetables will give you worms. Even the water that you drink sometimes has parasites.

Having sex where bodily fluids are passed can also give you worms if your partner has worms.

If you've ever been to the beach and you noticed that little girl or boy playing in the sand while picking his/her bum bum, he/she has worms.

Wormwood yau'll, pick yourself up a bottle.

Oprah is always overhyping stuff that is exposed a year later--Dr. Phil, Acai Berry, Obama...
    1. Jeunelle
Do not listen to fat people who come to tell you how to lose weight.
    2. Agit8r
no kidding... or weird people (Dr. Phill) who tell you how to live your life. He had his own diet didn't he.
    3. Agit8r
Anybody that tries to make money off telling you how to live your life is a piece of sh!t.

Like that piece of sh!t f~cker James Dobson

You must eat right and have plenty of dihydrogen monoxide.

(and this thread is a bit old)

Ahhh ...yes and now that you point it out I see that this was a no response thread that fell off the forum and into the searchbox on 2/17/09 and was resurrected 3 hours ago.
