I just started building a new blog in hopes of helping women who are suffering from the after effects of a cancer diagnosis and trying to keep their marriage from falling apart. Many marriages end because of lack of intimacy. Women who are diagnosed with a female cancer often loose their libido; often because of surgeries, hysterectomies, or hormone replacement therapies, and even from taking antidepressants. What I hope to accomplish with this blog is advice on how to get that libido back. I want to make the blog private and only invite women from Cancer Forums, advertise on the ACS and other Cancer organizations; it won't be for just anyone. I will also tackle issues such as medicinal cannabis and unanswered questions about the legality, studies, and the truth of it all. It will raw, honest, truthful blogging.

Currently, I have the blog (sexandcancer.blogspot.com) listed as an adult blog and it is set on private, but the downside is that it would only allow for up to 100 members. Does anyone know if blogger will eventually allow for membership only blogs? Does anyone have any advice or suggestions about marketing my blog. I want it to be open and private so that cancer patients can feel at home and not worry about being a perve for being there in the first place. I plan to add videos on how to get that spark back in the marriage, sexy music, intimate settings, yoga, meditations, intimate meals and much more, even sex toys. Everything needed to get the move on!

That's a great idea, good for you for approaching that issue. I'm not sure if blogger has any private abilities, but google is pretty good about replying to questions and input. You may want to shoot them an e mail thru their help pages.

For right now I am building the blog and I only want it utilized for cancer patients and/or women who are suffering in their marriages. It's private as I build it. I have so much to add, you have no idea. From videos, how to dance for your husband, how to feel sexy even though you may have had lots of surgeries and maybe don't feel sexy, advice on masturbating, and so much more. I am even adding information on utilize medicinal cannabis. It's quite an ambitious project. But thanks I will shoot Google an email.

    hello dear,
at blogspot / blogger you have the possibility to keep your blog private to invite people via email - it will remain private and closed for others, though.

at wordpress you have the possibility to keep the blog open & private, they offer a login area by default.

oh, may I give you a hint:
don“t stress so much on the problems with female cancer, that is "the no 1 source" for suffering - even reading about it stresses the mind. concentrate more on solutions, avoid bad news.

hope that helps, good luck with your work.
    sincerely greetings to you!

I don't know if Blogger gives you the ability for a public splash page or public front page with the rest private, but that is one solution to the search engine problem. Really, for a blog like this, I would recommend getting your own domain and host instead of a freebie so you will have a lot more control over the members' part.

I also agree that the best way to go is to purchase a domain and set up a public front landing page. Web hosting is not expensive and as aprilfreelance says it will give you complete control of the site.

I will do just that. Thank you!
