Akismet

Since I started posting to blogcatalog it seems I've attracted a bit of comment spam. Fortunately I activated the Akismet plugin right after installing wordpress.

Anything else I should be doing to combat this stuff?

    Keep a good eye out, even if a comment gets past askimet check the address it links to, I used to get loads from car dealers and porn sites on my old blog, they leave comments like 'nice' 'Saw your blog and had to comment'. Then add those comments to the spam.

    Try Pete's Custom Anti-Spam www.theblog.ca/?p=21

    It generates a picture with a word on it that users have to type in order to be able to post at all. Should cut down on your spam. At least on your receipt of automated spam, that is.
