As the year draws to a close I'm sure all of us have been looking back, as I recently done myself with my best and worst albums of 2008 post johnandnickys.blogspot.com/2008/12/best-and-worst-albums-of-2008.html, but now it is time to look forward.

That is exactly what I am doing in my latest blog post johnandnickys.blogspot.com/2008/12/albums-to-look-forward-to-in-2009.html as I look forward to just a few of my most anticipated music releases for next year.

Let me know either with a reply here or a comment on the blog what you think of my choices. Maybe there's some albums I didn't include which you're looking forward to, or maybe you're not as excited as me about the ones I picked, either way let me know about it.

[ears perk up] New Alice in Chains album?

Indeedy, I think it's due for a summer release. They're recording with William DuVall on vocals. Not sure what it's going to be like without Layne, but I'm trying to keep an open mind!

Bummer, a new lead singer. I'll probably listen to the new stuff (perhaps a lot, if hubby likes it), but I quite liked the line-up as it was.

Yeah, it's a shame Layne died his voice was amazing.

I've done my top five new acts and top five established acts due to release albums in 2009 at my blog, echoisaacashe.blogspot.com. The one's i'm really excited about are Rural Alberta Advantage, Mastodon's new album and The Prodigy's comeback.

I'm looking forward to debuts from both Emmy the Great and Florence and the Machine, both amazing vocalists.

I don't keep up with music as it comes out well enough to "look forward" to an album, with the exception of Taj Mahal's latest, to which I looked forward for several (well, three) days before it was availble. I'm still trying to catch up on the late 90s.

Hmm... Oh damn I wish I longed for a new release.. is there somewhere I could get an overview over the albums I can choose from?

Cheers for the link, that reminds me Morrissey's new album's coming out soon, that should be something to look forward to as well.

Okay, that's a fabulous link. I'm interested to hear what comes from the Black Eyed Peas, Infectious Grooves, Depeche Mode (I didn't think they were still performing!), the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and when the heck did Suicidal Tendencies get back together?!?! (Okay, I checked and the article says that the album is actually a compilation of Mike Muir stuff from IG and ST, among others. Whew! Nothing says "high school" to me like I Saw Your Mommy.) Wait, what were we talking about?

Great link indeed. I'm looking forward to Röyksopp and no doubt. Should be interesting to see what they're up to.
