Amber Alert Ticker: Good Idea! Resource Hog?

For the first time, the Amber Alert ticker on my blog ( apatheticlemming.blogspot.com/ ) was active today.

Happily, the victim was found - alive.

Now, what I'd like to know is: does this ticker slow down your computer, when you view "Apathetic Lemming of the North?" ( apatheticlemming.blogspot.com/ ).

I have that problem on my (antique) laptop - and I'd very much appreciate feedback. Thanks!

Nope, it seems to load all right. Maybe a tad slower than it would normally be, but not significantly.

I have used it on the Mothers Club web site I host and maintain for 2 years now with no problems.
