Hey there... I've just written a post about American Idol:

But now I want to hear from you. Do you think some of the auditions are people who know they have no talent but just want to make a name for themselves and be on television? And what about Randy, Paula, and Simon? Are they just acting or exhibiting their true personalities?

I think people love to play the fool. There is no way that someone could sing that badly and not actually know they suck. As far as the judges I think they are more real. Paula is a people pleaser and has shown herself as that numerous times on different tv shows. Simon is a lovable jerk. I love watching the stupid people leave all pissed off but I also feel bad for those who were just okay and they leave crying. Now as far as randy goes, I have no idea in he is just acting.

Thanks Mlinauer... I broke out laughing at your comment. "There is no way that someone could sing that badly and not actually know they suck" It sounds like you've got a great handle on the show. Please come back.

I cannot sing. I am tone deaf. I opened my mouth and belted out one note and knew right there and then........I suck at singing. If I went before the judges and they asked me why I am there, I would have to explain how someone kidnapped me and are forcing me to sing for them or my beloved gold fish, blondie, would die. I love watching simon just berate them. I just wish he was nicer to those that can sing and are not right for the show.

I think the jokes with Simon and Ryan are written by a writer. Every show has writers right? Because the jokes seemed forced. Maybe I am wrong but they seem good friends off the show.
I think some go on just for TV time that can't sing and hope they get picked up on youtube and make money with their website. -

Rivers, I agree several of them get dropped from their labels but I see some are still doing quite well. Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, and Carrie Underwood are hanging steady.

Not really. History has a funny way of repeating itself in the mainstream industry. Once you go down, it's hard to get back up.

That's Kelly's summer tour canceled because of poor ticket sales. No Tour = No Money for her. Record sales pay dick to the actual artist, you should know this by now. One thing about these pop stars is they love making money, and they usually leave when it gets old or they get frustrated.

Have you seen this? I don't know how old it is. I don't watch American Idol, so I'm not sure.

I thought it was kind of funny. -

I like American Idol because whether or not it's good or bad, it entertains.
Yes, I think some of the people auditioning are just doing it to get on TV. Remember William Hung? He sucked hard, but he was so bad and funny, he got a deal to cut a few albums... and PEOPLE BOUGHT THEM! I didn't buy, but I did listen to a few songs on his Christmas album. Hilarious.
Paula is crazy and on drugs, she has to be. I think Simon is honest. I think Randy is a mix of Simon and Paula. He's honest, but he's also nice about it.
Whoever writes the banter between Ryan and Simon should give it a rest. -
I think some people honestly think they can sing. Don't you know people like that? I do. I also think some of them are just out for their 15 minutes of fame.
When Idol first came on it was entertaining. Now it's just old and now that the show is popular I'm sick of looking at all of that non-talent. Those people would stop showing up if they knew they weren't going to get on national t.v. for acting a fool.
I'd personally like them to concentrate on the real talent and give them their 15 minutes of fame, let us get to know them from the onset rather than those snippets they try to sneak in between the goofballs if you even get to see a snippet of them at all.
As for the trio, I think they're who they are... considering that they still know they're on national t.v. I don't think Simon gives a kitty.
