Anne Rice Commented on my Blog!!

The other day I checked the comments on my blog, Eternal Vigilance, to find that the one and only Anne Rice had commented on a post I had written about a clarification she made about the possibility of another Vampire Chronicles book!

That's really impressive. Now, do you know it's really her or is it just someone claiming to be her? I only ask because I've thought of calling myself "Charles Bronson" before in comments, but wouldn't want anyone to think the original "Chuckster" had actually stopped by.

I had something similar (though not someone that famous) and was luckily able to verify via the IP address that they were who they claimed to be.

  Well, she isn't doing any real interviews for anything related to vampire fiction now that she is writing only Christian faith books. She does one video message per year to the Anne Rice Fan Club which is played at the vampire ball on Halloween in New Orleans, but that is about it.

I set up a thing to do with 80s indie groups I liked a few years back and got correspondence from an absolute ton of them, it was really thrilling.

I always wonder does this mean these people regularly trawl the internet for things about themselves?

  Well, I had actually emailed her back in March right before my book was about to come out asking if she would read it and review it. She emailed back that she was not reading or writing vampire lit anymore. I think that's how she knew about me and the blog since it's below the signature of my emails. Something I said must have caught her attention though.

That was very cool that Anne Rice commented on your blog post. I remember reading her books many years ago and didn't know that she was considering writing another book about vampire Lestat. Interesting that she is considering another book about Lestat with a Christian based twist.

  Actually that was just a rumor. She is not going to be writing any more vampire books, with or without Lestat. After that original post I wrote about the rumor itself, she sent the ARVLFC a video message about it. I have it posted on my blog here:
