There were three strange deaths reported lately. Well, they were strange to me because when I learned about them I couldn't help thinking to myself gosh...What a horrible way to go.
In California there was a huge train accident. A passenger commuter train collided head on at a fast rate of speed with another train. Twenty five people died, and that's including the train's engineer. About this engineer; It's been determined that this engineer was engaged in sending and receiving text messages mere seconds before the trains crashed. He didn't see a stop signal because possibly he was distracted by a cell phone text chat session. I used to text chat a lot but not while driving. I just kept imagining the scene. I imagined looking up from a message to see a train heading straight for me and there was nothing left I could do.
A rich adventurer set out in a plane. He'd done these types of flights before. He'd already flown around the world in a hot air balloon. But this time, on this flight, seems he flew straight into a mountain. I just kept imagining the scene. I imagined flying in the sky past the clouds only to see a huge mountain right before my eyes and there was nothing left I could do.
There's an old lady of 90 living in Ohio. She couldn't pay her mortgage. The sheriffs kept coming to make her leave but she wouldn't answer the door. The final time they came to kick her from her foreclosed home, she shot herself on the spot.

I don't know why it bothered me so much these stories, but when I thought of them I started to remember the times when I almost died. I had a couple close brushes with death.
One time my sister was driving. I forgot my seat belt, and she got in an accident. When I looked up all I could see was the glass around me, and a car coming straight at me.When I saw the blood squirting past my eyes at the same rate as my heart's beat, I was sure I would die.
Another time I was in a nightclub with my friend at spring break. We were standing at the back of the crowd dancing when two guys came up. It looked like they were going to turn into towards the restrooms; but instead they pummeled us out through the back door and into a van manned by two others that was waiting just outside. We were driven for along time in that van, I was sure I would die. Just then we heard sirens outside of the van. A dutiful officer had spotted the van on the poorly lit back road and viewed it as suspicious. All of the men fled and we were saved.
I can think of more than a couple times I came so close to death. I was sure I would die. 100% sure. I think people are most comfortable hoping to leave the earth in a painless way, such as while sleeping. And some people don't like to ever think of death at all. But some people already saw near death in one or more experiences they lived through.
Did you ever have a near death encounter? What happened?

I was 16 and my friend and I were going to cross a fast moving creek. I'm not a strong swimmer and I had all my clothes and shoes on. Needless to say I started drowning, when all of the sudden a drunk guy that was drinking in a tree next to the river(no joke) jumped in and saved me. I still hate the water.

I, uh ... cross the avenue every day, at the risk of getting hit by one of those crazy drivers. Does that count?
  4. News2News
yeah that counts especially if you look at some of the pedestrian injury statistics that take place anually

It kinda sucks here, because traffic officers tend to allow certain things that they shouldn't, and because certain drivers (especially those in public transport) will drive on the opposite lane just to get ahead, therefore creating an "extra" lane and risk hitting oncoming traffic (and us pedestrians!).

Now, if only I could teleport to avoid all of that ...

oh they have sting operations here
the police pose as crossing pedestrians and if a driver gets to close to the pedestrian, a police car comes out of hiding and pulls them over.

Hah! That's great. Too bad that pretty much everything here is a chaotic mess. They could do something like that, but it wouldn't even last a month. Things like that tend to be quickly abandoned here.
