I have my blog up and running for a week. But, have not seen much traffic yet. I wonder how and what are the ways that your all bloggers get traffics to your blog when you first start? Any good tips?

Participate here...I get lots of visitors just by running my mouth in the discussions . Just keep patient though...your blog is still young. It takes time to build a readership.

The quick way is to syndicate your articles. This builds backlinks in a hurry.

Click on avatars and visit other bloggers. Leave a cheerful hello in the shout box. People will respond. Add friends and neighbors and read others writings. Write daily web logs and before long you will have lots of visitors. Just say hello. People can reach you just by clicking your avatar. Welcome.

Theresa - Thanks for your friendly suggestion. I believe it takes time. As long as I'm doing the right things, traffic will come eventually.

Here's the truth - very few people in this venue can give you a truly satisfying reply. Shame on you if you think they have. There are methods but they require initial effort. And if anyone shared really good ones with you, without charging for them, it would be a waste of both your and their time because history proves that such worldly generosity is rarely rewarded and that people rarely value what is free. Of course, your imagination will convince you that you would be able to recognize good information and would be willing to use it.

Normally, I wouldn't come on here and just link to my blog but since you asked for something specific, I have something specific right here. It's not that others haven't mentioned some general concept about this, it is that no one has been SPECIFIC.

    Well, here is SPECIFIC: tinyurl.com/392g9x

You want to know how I go about getting my traffic? Well, first of all, there's the social media/bookmarking site such as SU, Digg, Mixx, etc and you can see the ones I use at www.datmoney.com/2008/02/potential-traffic-from-various-social.html with the "potential" of how much traffic you can get from each.

Also, there's forums and discussions which will definitely boost your traffic if you know how to use it right. If you don't know which blogging forums you should sign up with, I made my list at www.datmoney.com/2008/02/13-blogging-forums-you-should-join-or.html but word of advice, DO NOT SPAM and link drop!

Then there's also the good old fashion way of commenting on other blogs. More than likely someone will check out your blog if you leave a topic-related comment. If not the owner, there are other people who comment that will. Trust me, it works.

There's a start, let me know if you need more info and help...

I join a BC, Technorati, StumbleUpon, Mybloglog, feedburner etc and it did give traffic to my blog. And try to post content daily to your blog, and make it interesting. Improve your writing skill, visit other blog that interest you and make sure you leave comment, but not just a so so or chit chat comment, make it meaningful so the owner of the blog can feel your enthusiast. And then have some discipline and do it as your routine. That's what i gather so far. I'm a newbie too. Lol

For a while, I did Entrecard, then I decided it took a lot of time. I used to get up to 200 visits a day from entrecard, but they were for 30 seconds. I dropped Entrecard, because it was like Digg posts, a huge spike in traffic with ephemeral results and little continuity. You say something, your traffic spikes but then nothing for a while. Now, I am starting over with very little traffic-- no entrecard, but the visitors I get spend a little while on the site and read what I have to say. Do you want ephemeral results or readers who think about what you are saying.

thanks for all tips, guys. i've seen traffics increased a lot to my blog recently.
