    com'on guys!

Entrecard is good for fairly shallow traffic and webmaster traffic. Sometimes your blog posts might get posted by readers to all sorts of weird forums and you get targeted traffic from those. My bottomline advice is to focus on quality content.

    Entrecard like Lisa T said...

Stop at the red light. Sorry, had to. The kind you're talking about I have no comment.

Don't be mean to people on these forums, and share tips when you're asking for some. Gotta give to get.

I know what you are triggering at, but in that discussion, crapitt started the flame. You can see that her first comment was, "You suck"
    2. markstoneman
Irrelevant. You have to let stuff like that slide. By replying, again and again and again, you only hurt yourself. Have your say once and let it go at that. Then move onto the positive.

But what about my other point? How about sharing some of your own ideas here too?

Be active on forums and join Entrecard..

me I suggest Link Referral among others haha
    1. tamalds
      You mean link exchange?
    2. markstoneman
If so, that would be a bad idea.
    3. tamalds
      Yes I think so!

Entrecard but if you really want traffic through Entrecard you have to reciprocate other drops.

I do use EntreCard but what about quality traffic?

I think its just the visits you get, I know content is the king but do you really read the first post of all blogs you visit through entrecard??

    Honestly, I doubt

Establish relationships with other bloggers. Talk with them here; visit their blogs and offer thoughtful comments; and engage them with your own blog posts.

What Mark said. Establish relationships with other bloggers. Entrecard and Blog Catalog can both be really helpful and useful in doing that, but never forget its all aout the relationships.

oh, and my top tip for gaining regular readers and growing traffic? Regularly post good and well tagged content and make your site easy to navigate so visitors can find content that interests them. And the best time to think hard about these things is Before you write your first 200 posts, which will save Much work later (says he who is doing it now

Put metatags into your headers. Include both a metatag description and metatag keywords. Blogger does not include metatags you have to put them in yourself. This way search engine spiders will pick up your blog. I wasn't being
picked up by google at all until this was done. Resubmit your site to search engines every three months make sure your metatags are in order. I am not
sure how wordpress handles metatags. It is important for google and yahoo.

Write quality and interesting posts, don't post to often... Advertise your posts stumble, digg etc...
    1. Norski
I'd amend 'don't post too often' to 'don't post again, until you have something new to say.'

That might be fifteen minutes, a day, a week, or more.

I'd hope that it wouldn't be more than a day or two.
    2. markstoneman
If it had to be every day or two, I wouldn't have any blogs.
  16. Norski
Whenever possible, post about topics which are in the news. Today. This hour.

Some news services (CNN is my favorite for this) link to blog posts that discuss events covered by their articles. And, blog posts that link to those articles.

Relevance is a key here. A post about 'how I made seventeen billion dollars in five minutes' linking to a CNN story about a bus crash in Minnesota probably wouldn't make it onto CNN's link service. A post about that bus crash, or about charter bus services, that linked to the CNN story would stand a pretty good chance of being noted.

Those CNN links are ephemeral, but I've had traffic spikes as a result of them.

Why bother? I think that there's a chance that maybe one in a hundred new visitors will be interested enough to come back, later. And, in the meantime, I've got visitors who occasionally click on my ads.
    1. markstoneman
Have you had any concrete results with this?
  17. tamalds
Now a days I'm getting less traffic for my blog. I used meta tags and those are great in blogger. I removed it when I picked a new template to see what happens, and found that my search rank has gone bad.

About submitting your url in search engines every 3 months, Is it right?
I heard from many bloggers that submitting into search engines will put my blog in there sandbox.

I write in a daily basis and update 7+ times a week. I ping when I write something with pingoat.com

    Any more tips?

18k visits the past days for my last post due to stumble upon.
stumblers don't just stumble for anything they're looking for something new and fresh.

using digg helps but again you need a viral article that will bring you visits and backlinks.
  19. wehireu
Choose a few high traffic blogs which you like to visit and post to occassionally. You must actually like them and be able to make real comments. Link exchnge with them.
  20. CaesarRomaus
If you have a new blog, then join entrecard and go nuts dropping cards for about two weeks. Try to drop a card on everyone you can in the system.

After that, start to lay off the dropping and work more on link development and content.

In the end, content is all that matters however.
