Anyone actually get traffic from BlogCatalog?

I'm just wondering if anyone actually sees any real hard numbers coming from BlogCatalog. There are nofollow links all over the site, so participation is definitely not contributing to an overall wider plan.
Are there any metrics that suggest continued effort being put in this (and similar) sites?
btw, I have donated to the site, since it's extremely cheap -- I would be interested in hearing opinions on any/all levels of participation.

If you look at my sites, you will see that the answer is a resounding yes.
If you install a 'recent viewers' widget to your blogs, you will see who has visited you too.
I have also donated to the site.
I think in terms of promotion, you join and you make yourself known and then your blogs have to work for you. If they are dull, you may get one visit but no more, but if theya re intresting, people will come back to see what else is happenning.
So yes this site works very well, but then it's up to you and the quality of your blog. We can't blame anyone else if no one wants to read what we have to write about except ourselves. -

Google analytics reports that BlogCatalog is the 3rd source of traffic for my blog. Google (organic), StumbleUpon and BlogCatalog. -
I visited your blog, it looks very interesting and well laid out.
So your 'post' just got you a visit. -
According to thegoodknife(BlogCatalog's Lead Programmer) there are 80,000 members in the Blogcatalog community(www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/how-many-members-are-there-here)....The amount of potential traffic possible from that number alone is staggering....
In addition to the traffic potential and most important is the quality of the members and the blogs they produce...The blogcatalog community truly has a global flavor to it that is especially apparent in these discussion forums...
There are literally thousands of brilliant authors, photographers, bloggers, technical experts,site/traffic developers and members from all over the world...
The quality of most blogs in this community is a great resource that is easy to access due Blogcatalogs well thought out user friendly features that are superior to many other internet communities....
The discussion forums is a great feature that allows for the members to interact, exchange views and share information with each other as well as socialize....
The public/private shout box feature is a tremendous tool as is the Broadcast feature...
Like anything else however Blogcatalog is only as good as its user....
I personally enjoy being a member of Blogcatalog and treasure the friendships and aquaintences of the people throughout the world I have gained by being part of the Blogcatalog community... -

I do too. But I think, as others have said, the community you form kind of lives and grows on its own, and your traffic comes from that, regardless of the nofollow tags - although I guess it would be nice if they were not there.

Nofollow is something for search engines. I tells them not to count the link in their calculations, though some do to greater or lesser extents.
I'd like to see the links in the feeds have the nofollow removed, but I can see where in a forum they might help to reduce the shenanigans somewhat and relieve the moderators of a good amount of mindless policing.

Oh, and to the point of the thread. Yes i see traffic coming to my blogs from BC. I would also caution any one who says that this is not their largest source o traffic to look at the quality of the traffic before making any real value judgments. I can have a handful of BC / Bz members visit a blog and get comments, emails and other actions where a thousand Stumble visits might yield nothing at all.

The recent visitors plug-in shows members who visit, it doesn't show members who have been referred directly from the BC site though. i.e. came to my site as a result of being listed here. So plenty of bc users have been to my site, but the stats on my profile suggest that not many of them were referred from here directly. I do think that BC is one of the better sites for blog promotion though, even though I haven't been here long, especially for me, seeing as bloggers are the main target audience of my particular blog.

Not many, but i spend more time here so they don't need to come and visit
Maybe i should go missing and see if they come and find me? -

got over 80 visitors from blogcatalog the other day out of slightly over 200 visitors, that's according to feedburner.

Are you labeling your posts with good keywords?
I get tons of traffic from Blog Catalog--this is one of my top three referrers, with Google being my best. CNN is starting to refer a lot too because of some of the health articles I do. I'm speaking mainly about Covering Florida. I have a strange situation with my blogs--CF gets far more traffic, but Creative Writer US has a higher rank at Technorati even though this blog gets far less traffic than CF. Go figure. -
I get a few visits too, sometimes I get comments as well which is always good.
A lot of the stuff I yack about is a little on the tech side so I also accept that some of it might be a little over the heads of some of the more random browsers. -
Well, more comments from a new member....
I am fascinated by the Visits I have received.....
But is there a way to see when they arrived. is it weekly, daily ???
Appreciate anyone explaining..
Thank you all for this activity -

I use google analytics, and get about 5% of my traffic from BC. BC is quite chatty and friendly so I like it with or without lots of traffic
Cjbart - try the Blog Catalog visitor widget, you add it to your blog and it shows you who visited. You can also sign up to google analytics, it's quite easy to use -
Yes, BlogCatalog is a big factor me. Lately I've been less active on these discussion boards and my daily traffic has decreased significantly.
Wish I had an extra hour or so to be more visible here again....-
Hi Steve long time no see. that's the same for me. When I was more active here I got more traffic. But, I have been so busy lately that I almost can't keep up anywhere. But, yes I get great traffic from BC. I haven't actually checked my stats but just this past week I have picked up several new members through BC!! So I am a happy camper:)

I'd say less than 5% of my traffic comes from BlogCatalog, but the people who DO come tend to stay longer than, say, SU or technorati visitors.
So it's more high quality traffic.
The biggest reason I keep it on my site though is that I use it to find other blogs myself, and it's a great resource for that! -

I think it's great, I'm getting more traffic from BC everyday. I don't make any money from my blogs, but being read is enough.
It's nice to know people enjoy your work and I can see from the widgets that I have return readers and I am getting more comments now which are always great.
If anyone has any tips on how to make adsense work that would be helpful, meanwhile my plan is to remove them as all they do is take up space.
My dream analysis site is now a top 10 neighbourhood and I am chuffed about that as I guess the front page exposure I get from that position may now also help with more viewings. It's all good.
BC is an amazing resource.

Note: I am fortunate in that I am mentioned on the front page of a few top ranking sites (blogdumps,searchwarp.com,problogs) basically it's the content that will keep the readers coming. Great sites like this help facilitate that. -
I also get traffic from blogcatalog mostly from people browsing tags here. I get more traffic from blogcatalog than mybloglog which is a very similar site. At BC the community is very participative.
