I was commenting on another post below about a Route 66 ghost town in Missouri called Times Beach. And it made me think of a BONA FIDE Route 66 ghost town (still many old structures still standing) -- Cuervo, New Mexico, which I happened upon in late December 2006 on my way to the Sun Bowl game between Missouri and Oregon State. Cuervo was one of the coolest things I have ever run across. Someday, I hope, I will have the time and opportunity to fully explore all of old Route 66's former right-of-way (much of which still exists) -- and hopefully in a convertible. Never the time in this life to do all that we wish, nor all that we endeavor.

I haven't been to Cuervo, New Mexico.. but I have been to Tequila, Mexico. Does that count?? :-)

Well since Tequila is a lot cooler than Crows, I think that counts!
