Even though times are a little tough, I think with imagination families could pull off the most incredible weddings. What do you think?

If I had it to do over again, I definitely would have used a little imagination. I would have shoved the fork down his throat instead of just the cake.

At a recent wedding we photographed, the bride and groom had not only created a slideshow of their relationship, but also a slideshow of her parents wedding. it was so touching and romantic to celebrate love through the generations. Also, the groom surprised his mother in law again by dressing up in a gorilla suit ( because she always calls him a 'Big Ape') it's just great when couples bring their uniqueness into a wedding reception instead of just following tradition. here is a posting about this wedding:

I love NEW ideas! For our daughters wedding we surprised our guests with a late-night crepe station on the patio - we completely transformed the patio which had been the ceremony site by using a totally different color scheme - we had a chef station with fresh crepes and also a fire-pit with smores. Everyone loved it! I'll be posting pictures within the next two weeks with ways to surprise your guests. I'd love to hear everyone elses ideas also. www.desiredjourney.blotspot.com

Ms Caviar, my son and daughter in law got married on the beach.

The religious ceremony was on the sand in the early evening, just as the sun was going down over the ocean. The photos are lovely.

The wedding meal was later in the evening, on a buffet table lit by flaming torches. Guests helped themselves to food and drinks, and lay back, pasha-like, on divans. The 3-piece band set up near the water's edge, so that people could dance on the sand.

The family shared the food and drink responsibilities. And there were no bridesmaids, wedding cake, taxis or other costs, except for the 3-piece band and a lot of flowers.

Fortunately the wedding was in a city where the weather is 100% reliable in summer.
