I'm on del.icio.us, but I use it for my bookmarks, and these things don't interest me. Sorry.
Still, I am curious. How would del.icio.us bookmarks help you? It's not obvious to me, and I don't recall others making this request. Could you please enlighten me? Thanks! -
I personally only use delicious as a bookmarking tool and not so much for searching.
However, if you get enough people to bookmark your URL it adds relevancy in their search and could even get you on their homepage. -
I am with the above two. I only use delicious for personal purpose. Now I am doing more on Google bookmark which have better search feature. -
del.icio.us is a social bookmarking tool, and just like any other major social tool it must not be neglected. The bad thing is that since our targeted users are unlikely to know advanced internet techniques and do not use social bookmarking, we are forced to look for alternatives.
The ideal would be that relevant people add you on del.icio.us, but that's the ideal. With over 90% of internet users bookmarking means browser bookmarking (inside IE or FF) and not social bookmarking.
And since we have to keep up with the market developments, I have been assigned by my managers the social bookmarking part. Was I lucky? Unlucky? Actually both. Lucky because I learned so much, and unlucky because it's highly difficult to find bloggers from our field.
But let's not change the subject

When you say "our field", do you mean offshore oil? Or are you also considering people involved in recruiting people to work in other fields?

It's a niche, so the correct answer is oil/offshore oil. Had we been activating in IT software or gadgets or fun or celebrities or pr0n, it would have been much easier to find relevant bloggers

What's the point in bookmarking a page you are uninterested in? Isn't it much the same as favoriting a blog you have no desire to read? Or adding someone as a friend just so you can say your collection includes so and so many people?
Yes, I am on del.icio.us, but my bookmarks are for particular things that I want to find again or help others locate. -

I used to use it to bookmark but now all my bookmarks are google. I don't see how anyone has the time to mark things and join all these places. -
