My son practices Chinese WuShu (Kungfu). Tae Kwan Do is really great for stretching out. Do you ever get hurt?
    1. Dicky22
yes i hurt many times when i was in white and yellow belt. My worst experience is when i was yellow belt my coach asked me to fight with the Malaysian tae kwan do junior team black belt. Very lucky i can protect myself but i can't fight back. But now...i don't mind who ever i fight. hehehe...but never never use tae kwan do skills in public because very difficult to make the steps especially when you are fighting with more than one people.

I was practicing hatha yoga, but have fallen out of the habit and am trying to get going on it again. Great for both physical and mental health.

Totally agree. Most of my friends, who are my age (I am 56) spend a good part of their life with their doctor. I haven't been to one in 30 years, and haven't taken any medical drugs of any kind in the same amount of time. I think more and more people are tuning into good diet, moderate exercise and stretching, and rest.

i never practice yoga or tai chi because the movement very slow..but i'm sure there are benefits of it

The major health benefits come from the relaxed movements and stretching. Helps to move the blood (greater nourishment of the cells, and cleanses the body) and also helps to store energy. There are martial arts benefits also, but those benefits are a manifestation of the health and energy benefits.

Yoga is so relaxing. Really good when you've had a stressful day.

Yes, I look forward to just stretching a bit, breathing calmly, and relaxing. I always do some every day.

I have been a practicing every day yogini for over 20 years.
I tried tai chi for about 3 years over a decade ago but chose not to continue with it.
In the summer I also join a qi gong group that meets 3 times weekly.

I first tried hatha yoga when I was about 14, and have done some yoga on and off ever since. I'm not very structured about it, so a lot of people wouldn't consider what I do a "practice." I also add to it a basic chi gong movement I learned 15 years ago or so.

My mainstay health practice is Jin Shin Jyutsu. Without this, I wouldn't have the energy to get up for anything, not even yoga. I've had chronic fatigue syndrome since I was 18, and I credit Jin Shin Jyutsu with giving me my life back.
