Yes. I think the nature of the blog, the niche it’s in, and the quality of the contents are all factors that go into selecting the combination of advertising and affiliate plans that may be workable for any given blog.

    I recommend commision junction

    From TT's post above

"Commision junction: Maximize your revenue opportunities by developing sustainable relationships with top-tier advertisers. Perform and get paid for every sale and lead you generate. For qualifying publishers, take your program to the next level with our industry exclusive solution for top-performers. " cj.com

I have used them, it seems like they are the biggest affiliate go between - they have advertisers like geico and all the insurance companies.

You need to build up some trust with them before getting really good rates but it's worth it - companies can also approach you with special only for you offers on click throughs or leads.

you can get paid in commision from the sale, clicks, or leads. I don't think they do CPM

Developers: CJ gives you a unique publisher ID that you can stick in your dynamic links (PHP and ASP folks) You can also do reporting by SID (a special ID# u assign to your customers and their links dynamically) - this is for building a rewards type site

I gave up on Adsense and now I'm with Project Wonderful. So far it seems to work a lot better. You can go to my blog (click through to my profile) & find the ad spaces on my sidebar, then click through PW and find out more about it.

Strictly speaking, I use only AdSense for advertising. However, I also participate in some affiliate programs.

Amazon.com has, I have read, a fairly good affiliate program: but it's not suited for my needs. At present.

I'd suggest you look for vendors with products that are compatible with your topics - and see what sort of affiliate programs they have.

It's not, I think, a 'get rich quick' solution, but could provide a bit of revenue - or reduce the price of routine purchases.

Before you start adding other advertising, I recommend very strongly that you read the AdSense TOS.

You should definitely consider becoming an affiliate and use affiliate links on your blog, it's done wonders for me.
