Are Expensive Spa Treatments Worth it?

I am staying at a resort in Costa Rica. I have been to several spas and had a variety of facials, body massages etc. Here these treatments seem ESPECIALLY expensive.
Does anyone know do they really work? For example, some claim to increase collagen and decrease celllite. I know they are relaxing and make you feel good.
However, $200 for a body treatment or $170 for a facial seems a little unreasonable.
Just wanting some opinions. Thanks.

They are expensive, I've done it once ... it was wonderful so to me well worth it because it felt great and I had a great day & felt so relaxed afterwards. Can't put a price tag on that. Well, I guess you can. It's certainly not something I can afford to do more than once or twice in my lifetime, but it was nice!
As for doing what they claim, not sure about that. -

I agree. You can't put a price tag on how great these treatments make you feel. However, hard to get that wonderful feeling when you feel like you're being overcharged. -

Funny you should bring up spa treatments...Sunday I blogged about making your own salt scrubs, one of the most invigorating spa treatments I've ever had.
