So this leads a girl to ask.....if men have more (billions more) brain cells than women, AND they do not score any higher on IQ tests then what the heck are they doing with those extra brain cells?
Those billions of brain cells are thinking of other stuff during these IQ tests (ess eeee exx)-

The intelligence of men and women is not based on brain cells. It's based on blood levels between the two. -
this is a trap question, men are not smarter than women, nor the other way around.
men just lack that one little thing that make them ask women all the time: why didn't you tell me???!!! -
I wasn't factoring emtion really. I was just reporting the research that I found. That was the question it posed....minus the "what the heck" part. hehe

Men have a "mini brain" between their legs. Sometimes it takes over:) -
I am not sure about the Smarter because it's one kind of brain for both women and men, I can say it's like cars, same engine used by 2 diffrent cars
so we can not ask which engine is stronger because they are the same exactly.
Anyways.. I think this is dumb question naahh I am just kidding.. But to be smart is related and depending on several thing in life and experiences.

i watched a program on a tv about it... man tend to think wisely when it comes to tactical things, games, sports or in survival situations etc. while women are good at memorizing things.. such as numbers, signs, etc. So if woman get lost she uses her memory.. such as board sings, house etc, which is not a good thing... but when a man get lost he uses his 6th sense to find directions, as well as his memories. Men evolved as hunters, warriors, explorers.. they obviously have big brain, strong muscular hands and feet, and big nostrils so they can work like a bull. And women choose to evolve something differently. But its foolish to compare between this two, they are exceptional at their own boundaries.-

or one is smarter than the other.
They could easily switch roles. I know plenty of women who are warrior like
and remind me of Amazon warriors, heck I may even be one of them.
Yet I know many men who took on a motherly role and play the part very well.
Gender to me may be personal and can certainly be interchangeable.
Many things may create the difference, like their current environment, needs,
wants, survival situations, foreigners & invasion.
I don't care what part of the brain they are using, they both compensate somehow
for whatever may be lacking in their own way. -
Yes mam! i certainly get it what you are trying to say, and i am not trying to find out who is smarter! well smarter are women "I agree". But this differences took place way back... thousands of years ago. so it would take again atleast hundreds of years for women to actually be like a man. Yes women can pickup guns, and start killing like men do at war, but what about their "other" qualities? are they ready to sacrifice those qualities? we all know we can be either head or tale, not both. Im not trying to suppress the "power of the woman" but it's a fact that a man thinks differently than a woman.

It depends on how you define intelligence. If you're defining it by simple IQ score, then more men than women fall at BOTH ends of the distribution curve. In other words, there are more men than women who score in the extreme ranges of high AND low intelligence. Women tend to cluster closer to the middle.
So, in one respect, you could say that men are smarter (i.e. perform better on IQ tests) because more of them score in genius range, but their brothers at the low end of the spectrum drag down the average male score, so it all evens out.
On the other hand, if you're defining intelligence by, say, connections between right and left hemisphere, then women outperform men in that department.

I think you are right. The highest IQ scores are men. Many drag on the bottom also. That can be just because of being lazy to learn rather than actual smarts. -
Wouldn't that depend on their IQ?
The brain may well function somewhat differently as much research has pointed out over the last ten years, but smart in the classic sense means IQ doesn't it? Most recent research shows men and women to be about equal in IQ, with women greatly underestimating their intelligence. -

She forgot to mention that those brain cells were distributed between the men's two heads. Or that it takes a more brain cells for a man to function.
All kidding aside, not smarter, just in different areas of knowledge. Also, part of the need for the additional cells is due to the fact that men are made up of more muscle mass.-

We are two separate breeds with mind strengths on both sides. That is what makes us compatible.
We complete each other like an equation needing two numbers to add together to get an answer..

No. It's not a matter of gender I think. But generally, some people are smarter than others. Based on personal experience, Germans are really smart people. And it takes one to know one? Ahem.... -

i think women have smarter answers to dumb male questions, and men have dumber answers to smart female questions. so if you want a dumb answer to a a dumb question, guys are the way to go. this being a very good example.

This topic once again brings in controversy. You can find both sides of the fence on this one. Men are not smarter and women are. Bottom line is women have always been equal to men as far as intelligence. Here is a quote I found interesting. women are actually smarter and are more encephalized, more fit, and just bettar people. most men die easily, have health and vision problems and mental problemz as well -
don't think so.. in brain function matter, but in emotional matter they are deferent.-
Physically women are more emotional and intuitive
So the thing that is left for men is to use his brain.
Generally Men have higher brain functionality levels than women. (eg: IQ)
Question: Can anyone use his brain functionality at full efficiency?
Answer: No
That's why the women are smarter. Bcs they can use intuitive ways!!

What does "smarter" mean anyway?-
Actually, they're not. Do some research. An IQ test is in fact a reliable method to measure your general intelligence.
It's not the only factor, but it is a factor that can't be denied, despite commonly held beliefs.

Depends on the person and the type of intelligence you are talking about, My girlfriend is a research chemist and is much smarter than me in an academic sense, but I would think I'm quicker and more "Street smart" than her. -

If you ask men they will say yes if you ask women they will say no .
Even scientifically it is difficult to say as men and women brains differ for example women uses both sides of brain in some tasks so they are smarter than man in some tasks. But men are more logical in doing things .In other words nature has balanced the things so there is no need of "sex war" -
Men are different than women, my understanding is that women are better at cooperative and social behavior than men (like politics), and men are slightly better at rational behavior like building things and killing each other. -
